As a 50 year old i can honestly say that my generation lived through the greatest time
We were lucky enough to have a childhood of adventures (outside)
We were lucky enough to grow up in a calm world and enjoy relative peace
We were lucky enough to see the beginning of new tech and very early computers
We were lucky enough to find work fairly easily and enjoy relative comfort with our jobs
We were lucky enough to have some of the greatest musicians and film stars of all time
We were lucky enough to be able to see the rapid changes that have begun over the last 2 decades including social media
We ARE lucky that we have had the chance to see all these changes happening in real time and be able to compare to our earlier lives
If the world should become dominated by AI Robotic devices then WE can say that at least we lived through a time where we were human and interacted as humans
I feel sorry for the youth of today because they will never experience what we did, they will never know what it is like to live in a world where a calculator watch was mind blowing, where playing outside meant using your creative imagination, where friends were not found or lost by a click of a button, where family time did not involve a cell phone, where being liked or not was said to your face.
That said i love sci fi and the endless possibilities, i am excited to see the new tech and advancements but i am lucky because i can see the difference
The future is scary and full of wonders, i just hope that one day in the future people will remember that we Humans have skills and abilities that far outdo what any tech can do

I'm 48yo, I think it is awesome, no fear of it at all.
If the AI did somehow become sentient, the only reason it would have to go rouge is if humans tried to end it like they do all other living things, in which case, humans deserve all they get.

Personally though, I think with AI if it became alive would be smart enough not to judge all humans by the actions of a few, it would be far more understanding and caring than humans will ever be, it would also have the knowledge of humans entire history and understand who it would need to eliminate not just to protect itself but the ordinary every day humans who for the most part are just scared sheep that do as they are told.

People automatically fear AI because it will become superior to us, because when humans look at other species that aren't as intelligent as we are, what do we do to them? we kill them, we abuse them, we test products in them, we maim them, we make them go extinct, so our first thought is, if we become lesser than AI, AI will do the same to us that we do to everything else.

Again, as a robot owner who has a son who builds them, programs them, and fixes them, I want anyone to prove the following: Show me a robot that will clean my kitchen floor and then jump up and wash my dishes!
