Thats not an alligator, thats a crocodile. No gators in Africa. ;) On a more serious note, what most excites me about Pharaoh is weirdly enough the possibility of seeing Assyria and Babylon as factions in the future. I'm a sucker for ancient Mesopotamia.

Something nice I noticed when you were carding over your archer units in that last battle, the unit details now show the exact number of arrows left. It's not a huge improvement but it is a nice QoL for figuring out exactly how much effectiveness they have left.

I think the thing with the Hatshepsut Trade is that you make a chain of deals. For example, you don't just go to Location X and then come back. You can go to Location X, trade the Upper Egypt Goods for something that Location Y Values, and then go to Location Y to trade those goods for something else.

The campaign map looks really good, maybe even better than Troy. Also, the various mechanics are fun, like the ambitions and traditions, etc. I think CA did a good job with this game, but it came at a time when we all wanted another Medieval, Empire or Napoleon title, diminishing the excitement of Pharaoh.

I do like that the battles seem to be longer and not over quickly and "arcade-y". Allows more time for strategy and decisions.

Wisdom of the Sand.."You see a vassal is like a sibling that starts a fight then hides behind you." Then blames you to mother when it fails.

1:15 "Double consonants don't pass my hillbilly speech-mechanisms!"

Congrats Heir, now you know how those barbaric Greeks felt when they went around renaming every Egyptian city!

From what you've shown your units not following orders (that one chariot entity even randomly charging without orders) seems like one of the biggest problems with the battles at the moment. Thanks for bringing us this content!

I think it would be more effective to use the chariot's ranged attacks to soften the enemy up a bit more before committing to the charge.

I'll say you definitely have the best content on this game right now. Honest throughout live battles, while still going over mechanics as you come across them in a practical sense. I appreciate your time in making these, even if they are sponsored early build. After watching you play though (nothing against you) but i don't think i will not buy it, it seems so much like a reskin of troy but as some kind of "newgame +" version!. I'll wait for a deal but this doesn't seem to be a $60 game.

Heir when attacking a settlement with a large garrison. You could try encircling, then withdrawing a try setting up an Ambush with the hopes the garrison will try and attack you outside the settlement

I don't know about on the min-map, but there was definitely a flashing red and white marker on the map border indicating where the reinforcements were going to come in, you can see it at 26:25.

There appear to be numerous legacy and tradition paths. Also the court provides another half dozen paths. With many possible starting generals plus upgrade choices, game should be very re-playable. Impressed by the graphics in the battles. Cudos to you for being able to handle so many units and skirmishes. At those odds I would have laid siege. Wondering if you would be better off hiring officers rather than more units. It appears unit quality trumps all.

1:18 egyptian words are translated from hieroglyphs, we don't know how they actually pronounced it, but all we know is how it is spelt. If I'm not wrong they also didn't write down vowels or something, so we had to guess and fill in the vowels, may not be entirely accurate since there is too little evidence.

Heir, I'm sorry. Any ancient commander who sent his chariots into a hostile urban area would expect them to have problems pathing as well as fighting. Nope nope nope, those chariots in a town would be meat for people chucking rocks as the orses panced and the charioteers got lost.

Interesting Victory Objective screen, Brakes down everything nicely. And hay if im reading that right you have a few different ways to win besides going on WORLD SPANNING war just to conquer some backwater settlement for arbitrary reasons. Conuquests, Landmarks, Ambitions, Feats To Rule. Intriguing. Also, those are not Allegators, those are Crocodiles. The 2 are easily confused.

I would Assume an Egyptian faction would want to conquer all of Egypt as their "homeland".

On a more serious note, CA PLEASE! PLEASE KEEP THE OUTPOST SYSTEM! Not quite the same as Empires Natural Growth of Provinces over time, but its close enough. And the Resource system as well, KEEP that too. These 2 things are Good for Total War.

I've never tried total war games, but this video makes me want to play this game

Great video. You can try to clear some of the military outposts if they are reinforcing the settlement garrison. May take more time but make battles easier
