The idea we could have lost her. If love was a person, it would be Amy Grant. Bless the doctors who saved love for us all. My heart would have broken and stayed broken for years.

Amy I saw you were having heart surgery and I prayed but didn't think much beyond that until Sept 10 when I was told unexpectedly out of the blue I would be having open heart surgery in 3 days. I am so grateful God gave us both 2nd chances at the second half of our lives. God Bless You!! (and Me.)

I’m 32 and need an open heart surgery for a heart defect that I was born with and no one including myself was aware of it because I was a healthy child and a healthy person but now I’m so depressed because of that. Prying for all. Pray for me

I had PAPVR and last August my surgeon performed the Warden Procedure on my heart and now 1 year and a month I am feeling great. I am a 52 year old man. I have a identical twin brother who had the same procedure 8 months ago and is recovering well.

Having open heart surgery was the scariest time of my life - and I’m a cancer survivor! It’s been almost 18 months since my life saving surgery and I’m still not quite back to normal. My legs are so weak that if I’m on the floor, I can’t get up I unassisted. I still tire somewhat easily. It’s been a long road.

My mother found out she had this congenital heart defect, PAPVR, when she was 75 years old! She went ahead and had the surgery and has done great since.... She is a pretty healthy 81 year old, by the grace of God! Thank you for sharing your story, Amy.

A friend shared her story with me, right as I’m preparing to go through 4-bypass surgery. God used her testimony and I thank him for doing that.

I am 13 days out of modified Bentall procedure with konect bovine tissue valve. Was in great shape when I went in with minimal damage and classified as Stage C: A Symptomatic. I am 60 years old and made the decision to surgery one year after the diagnosis of severe aorta valve stenosis. Took me that long to get my nerve up. I was working, I felt great, what the heck? Third opinion I said let's do it because I didn't want the recovery to be ridiculously long and/or my heart to be irreversibly damaged by my own hand because of my cowardness. The first week out of general anesthesia is NO JOKE and it does hurt. I've been home for three day and begin warfarin tomorrow evening for three months. Feeling very good.
