In July 2020, I had exactly the same accident as Amy. Riding my bike fast on the bike path. Hit a pothole. The bike stopped, I didn’t. Landed on my right side on the path. Without the helmet, I’d be dead. Almost passed out but didn’t. Had a tbi. My memory both long and short were gone, cognitions were messed up. Headaches. Etc. took almost 2 years to recover. Like Amy, I simplified my life, learned to live in the moment and be eternally grateful that I survived the accident, am upright and mobile. I was 72 at that time.

The docs later told me I was lucky I survived. I guess I had angels watching over me!!!

I've had the honor of meeting and having a chat with her twice so far... each time, she was exactly the same...so genuinely kind, thoughtful, down to earth, looks you in the eye and listens, she lives very in the moment. What you see is what you get. Love her.

I have been a huge fan of Amy since 1988. Don't ask how I missed her earlier recordings, but I was led to Amy's music by God, after my mom passed at a young age and I was searching for a meaning and comfort in my life, and I went into a record store which I always went there every week, but this time I truly believe that God led me to the amy Grant section and I was not familliar with her music very much at all and I picked up Amy grant in concert vol. 1, and i did not know any songs on the album but i knew in my heart that God wanted me to buy the album and check it out and I did and i Loved what I heard. I bought all the albums of hers that I did not have and the rest is history. Amy is such a huge inspiration to us all. I have seen her 3 times in concert and loved every minute. She does not let success change her, So very down to earth. Yes, Amy is loved!!!

So grateful to see that Amy was able to host the Christmas show and sing. Hearing her say the phrase “if I have no purpose” brought the tears! When I was 6-12 I used to sing along with her CONVINCED I sounded like her and she was the first person that made me feel that sense of awe. She has always stayed consistent. I will always adore her!

What a great takeaway: WHAT IS MY VALUE - IF I HAVE NO PURPOSE?
God has given you such talent, grace, and beauty my friend, that He continues to use Him,
as you point people to GLORIFY CHRIST. Sure we all mess up along the way, no one is perfect, the church is a hospital for sinners who need the Great Physician and healing - may He heal each one of us, until the day He takes us home.

You have survived so much and went through so much.
None of it is wasted. Ever since I saw you decades ago (both young then)
at Knott's Berry Farm, and later Disneyland - you still a teen,
I've admired your voice, and enjoyed your songs,
it goes without saying you were every single Christian boy's heartthrob.
Thanks for all you do, God continue to bless you and yours.
A big fan in Arizona.

Good to hear about the details of your accident, Amy. Enjoyed your concert in Austin last week. You are still beautiful, and your voice is still strong. My first Christian concert was watching a film of your My Father’s Eyes concert in 1982. I was blown away by the wholesomeness that came through your songs and your chatter. Thanks for the music through all these years, and for continuing to live out your faith well to this day.

GREAT show in Des Moines, Iowa at Hoyt Sherman on March 28th! It was so entertaining I felt I was watching a variety show. God bless you for giving money to families in need. You are an angel Amy Grant!!

Saw you in concert in Lancaster last night. I completely forgot you had had this accident. Seeing that hospital photo and the realization that you did have a helmet on and were still knocked out is mind blowing to me. You're a teflon angel Amy. And I still adore you. Thank you for your music and your giving heart. Huge love to you.

This was a great interview. I remembered seeing a little bit of news regarding her bike crash, but either forgotten or didn't hear of her needing a teleprompter during her early recovery. Glory to God Almighty, for continuing to heal Amy and keep her on the right track.

I understand what she is going through. 5 years ago I had my first stroke. Two TIAs later that same year, and last year, an AIS stroke. I struggled to remember names of friends, and sometimes still catch myself doubting if I am remembering a name correctly. I have trouble remembering words I WANT to say...they are RIGHT THERE...but I can't get them! I was listening to some of her songs earlier I used to listen to all the time as a kid, and had to listen several times because I was having difficulty with the lyrics I had once absolutely had committed to memory. It's difficult when music is your entire salvation and life.
