As someone who's almost 12 and still doesn't have a phone, I see this as an absolute win.

Personally I think that people need to stop blaming the phone on people being bullied and becoming suicidal. If the bullies really wanted to bully them, they would have just bullied them in person if they didn't have a phone. Also, when somebody get's a phone, it doesn't create bullies, it just makes it easier for the bullies. Lastly, if the bullies didn't exist, there would be no complaints. Don't hate the source, hate the people that are using the source for bad. Parents that don't let their kids get phones because, POSSIBLY they could be bullied, is like telling someone that they can't eat food made by other people ( like fast food ) because it could POSSIBLY be poisoned.

Thank you for this video! I feel like I'm the last mom on the planet that thinks it's completely asinine with all the information out there on how harmful phones are to give my 10 year old a smartphone! He's asking and it's because MANY of his friends have them? What is going on? I jumped on here to see if I was just out of touch and old fashioned, but it sounds like I'm not the problem...

I'm 11 and everything I want I buy myself witch should be normal for kids like me.But 99% of kids what their parents to get them everything everything!!! For free and they don't work for it and they want iphones witch is about 1, 000 dollers but if thier where parents like this one or mine, the kids would know how expensive things actually are especially today in time and they will learn how hard making money and how hard it is to buy expensive things after all that hard work I wish kids would appreciate and actually work for what the they want and that is all.

This many people agree

Didn’t get my first phone until I was 14, and it only had talk and text. I didn’t have an iPhone until I was 18.

About 10 years ago a good age to get a phone was around 13 or 14 now honestly it should still be the same. I saw this dad the other day with his two children who were atleast 3 or 4 and they both had iPhones. That’a just lazy parenting.

Lady:"Never Before 16!"
Me: Dang! my parents say that too!
also Me: 16 is WAY to old! i think 10 is a good age.

parents have different mindsets than children. parents make is seem like "kids only need a phone to contact the parents". but that's NOT true, its most likely that the child is missing out on a lot of things! like, conversations with friends and being the only one that doesn't know what all the other kids are talking about. as a kid, it can be very frustrating being the only one without a phone. p.s. don't EVER tell your kids that they will never get a phone...it REALLY HURTS.

Honestly if your child already has an iPad wait for it to break down, get busted… you know what I mean. Then start thinking about getting a phone. But a phone and an iPad or really that different if you really think about it. The phone is just smaller so you can take it places. That’s my opinion.

I know u might say I’m stupid but I think I want to save up for an iPad and sell my iPhone. Why? I can’t study on my phone, my phone is getting laggy and slow. When I’ve got my iPad I MIGHT save up for a phone.
