It's curriculum week! Here are my choices for my 7th grader!
P.s. I accidentally said her planner is from SCM, it’s from Anna Vance Paper Co., sorry about that slip up!

I’m curious to hear how y’all will like the Apologia General Science. I’m considering that for my oldest next year. 🤗👍🏻

My son, rising seventh grader, is doing Apologia General Science too! I had him complete the first module at the end of last year so I could get an idea on timing. He loves it. It is so well organized.

Thank you for sharing your curriculum picks - I love watching these and get a ton of ideas from you! Can you please share a weekly and daily typical schedule and how you loop subjects to get through everything? You cover a lot and I'm curious to see how you schedule to fit so much in a week without overload for all! I know the Charlotte Mason style teaches in short chunks of time, but I'm assuming you loop a lot too. Also, I'd be interested to hear how your kids use their planners? I typically schedule the day for the kids - the order of their subjects etc but would like to encourage more independence. Curious to know what you are teaching with that! Thank you so much!

I would love if you could make a video on how you're going to do assigned reading this year with all your kids. You might already have that in your plans, but just thought I would let you know there is interest in that type of video. 😊

That's interesting surf lessons are pretty much during hurricane season lol I would've expected during a calmer season.

Do you know if Apologia Exploring Creation series also come with the test book? The content is great. I wish I can check how much learning my child is retaining.

And also, what is the difference between assigned reading and independent reading for your family? We plan on doing assigned reading for the reading comprehension part with Memoria Press curriculum. I think independent reading can be that or specifically say a book of her choice. We are relatively new here.

I love seeing these! Especially your 7th grader! I always get great ideas. Last year we did the Christian heroes books. She loved them! We need to get more for this year.

This is my 8th grade son’s first year not doing science with us. We use TGTB for the younger kids but it just wasn’t meaty enough for him this past year. He will be doing General Science 1 from Masterbooks. I am a little nervous about it, but he’s excited and it looks so good!

I didn’t know they had Laura Ingalls Wilder in the Hero’s of History! I just stopped and ordered it. My girls adore Little House. I also love her planner - such a pretty cover. - (Rachel from Shema Academy)

Hi Abby! My daughter is a year behind Isabella so I always love seeing what he doing! I heard you say she’s a great speller! We are struggling with spelling- do I remember Isabella was once too? Maybe you can make a video on improving spelling? Or resources? I’d appreciate that so much!

Cute shirt! Love all these homeschool videos! I have a 4th & 6th grader next year. Curious what you didn't like about Rosetta Stone? I've never tried it.

Excited to see you using ULW and SW still! I know you said you "slacked" on it, but do you still feel it is effective? With composition, is she getting that through a weekly written narration and then her book report on the missionary biographies? Do you have suggestions on a resource for learning more about LA in a CM education? I understand grades 1-3. But then I get a bit fuzzy.

When your daughter does her monthly book report is the report basically a written narration? Is she free to write whatever she wants about the book? Is it opinion? Could you please share more on this?
