Fun fact that everyone probably knows: Perfect Chaos’s design in Sonic Generations is what he actually initially supposed to look like in the OG Sonic Adventure. However, the Dreamcast’s hardware wasn’t strong enough to pull it off.

First it was water effect then it was Detailed graphical skin textures

I personally think the all water look of original chaos makes more sense then the scaley look of generations chaos

The sense of scale in the original imo trumps the generation, sonic feels way more tiny than in the generation making the whole fighting a deity thing more intense

funny how much sonic has grown because at first he need the chaos emeralds and six hits to defeat him but now only 4 hits minus super so that mean modern sonic is more powerful than adventure sonic which is insane

I prefer the Generations fight actually as I feel like there’s more at stake for the PLAYER (not sonic), especially with how unpredictable some of the occurrences are.
You have to keep running or sonic dies essentially and there’s less room for error which I find is good. Yes you need to keep grabbing rings in Adventure but other than Chaos blasting at you, nothing really impedes your actions and he becomes a punching bag for Sonic

the differences:
sonic isn't super, there are now 2D sections, the music was downgraded, the final section is all platforming and some of the fight has platforming anyway

I know in generations Chaos is just a normal boss but I really wish the fight was longer. I hate that I can beat this in under 2 minutes. They should’ve made it in hard mode that you’re super sonic and it takes like 10 hits to take him down.
