I’m half Cherokee Native American. My hair is ab 32” long now, and pretty thick. I’ve only trimmed it once in 6 years and my hair has been so healthy and strong the whole time. You can definitely train your hair to not need many products or tending to. I have wanted to try and pay a bit more attention to my hair though, but I’m very much not the kind of person to spend hours on haircare routines. I’ve been looking everywhere for minimalist routines, and this one really stood out to me. Thank you

As a Mexicana, I have really long(by my thighs), oily hair and struggled a lot growing up trying to figure out how to deal it. I’ve gotten to the point where I can mange it super well- but tips are always useful!

I use rose oil shampoo. I add honey and ginger to it. Rose oil dries my hair out. But it makes soft and shiny and strong. The honey helps keeps it from being dry and it makes it really soft and strong. The ginger keeps the scalp from being dry and itchy. It stimulates hair growth and keeps it healthy and strong. My hair grew 12 inches in 6 1/2 months. I'm letting my hair grew out all natural and no more hair color. I really love your hair and you are very beautiful.
My name is Wild Eagle (Kiyaki).

I have always had a minimal haircare routine but about a month back I added in a bi-weekly hair tea mix of hibiscus flower (Rosea) & stinging nettle. Let me say, with that addition alone my hair gets INCREDIBLY soft (...of course I drink it too ❤️) I give total credit to a Cherokee woman who uses stinging nettle tea for her hair and also a Jamaican woman who uses the hibiscus (Rosea) tea for hers. I thought I’d mix the two since I had both on hand and it has become a permanent part of my routine at this point! I’ve even used it on my neice (who has thicker hair texture than mine) and her hair has become massively softer too!

By the way, your accent is incredibly adorable. I can’t seem to make out what part of the U.S. it originates but just know I love it!!!

I ordered these products and hoping that my hair gets better soon! I’m indigenous (Mexico) and white (Irish, Spanish). I never realized my hair wasn’t what I thought it was in terms of thinness. I assumed I had thinner hair. I compared a strand of my hair to my partner’s who is Jewish and has European ancestry. My hair strand was like 5x thicker and harder to break. I feel like I’ve been taking care of my hair incorrectly this entire time. My hair is usually frizzy and dry feeling. My hair goes down to my waist right now.

I just used Sister Sky products that arrived yesterday and they’re amazing! Oh my gosh the smell is lovely and my hair feels much silkier. I can still smell the Sweetgrass scent and I washed my hair yesterday. I never want to go back to what I was using before.

Thanks for sharing your hair care routine! I’m excited to try it out too. I think for me I’ll have to gradually reduce washing my hair since I was washing it before daily. 😅😂

I’m going to have to try the Earth To You products. I’m still loving the Sister Sky products too. Like you, I’m supporting the Native American companies.

I know I'm like a year late but, I've started looking more into my culture (I'm 100% native american) and I was curious on what indigenous people did with their hair and I found this and I am looking forward to following this!

My great grandmother was Native Cherokee. I am also part Scottish Irish. I have always had super long hair. It is down to my thighs. I am almost 60 and have went to great lengths to keep it healthy and to find products that are good and healthy. I also use oils in my hair. I enjoyed your video and will look into the products you mentioned. Thank you

I love this! Thank you so much for recommending Sister Sky, I'm definitely going to have to try it out! I'm part Native and am always looking for Native owned businesses to support. I'm also trying to grow my hair long (though maybe not quite as long as yours lol), so good hair products are a must for me!

Thank you for this vid cuz I wanted to know ideas to change up my routine since I'm back home in Alaska and it's so dry. Us natives have certain hair and I appreciate that your product is made by another native!

Never heard an accent quite like yours, somewhere between American, southern and Australian

Just like me, all I use is a scalp scrub and horsetail oil with pure flaxseed oil wash, condition and blow dry. The best thing about less and minimal

I am Cherokee Choctaw, Chickasaw, Aztec, French and Irish, but never got to meet any of the Native American side of my family other than my grandma and mom but my mom is Native American and meso American and French Irish but I was raised by the Mesoamerican side of my family my dad’s side So I never got to learn about my hair or anything and to make it harder. I have mixed hair long, thick, black, curly hair. I’m growing it out for the first time this year I haven’t cut my hair in half of a year it’s finally starting to fall down the sides and I’m able to see a lot more of my native features now and I’m trying to get more in touch with my ancestors and learn how to take care of my hair. Thank you for this video and don’t worry I’m bad at English to😂 I was raised in Texas and have developed a very thick Texas accent so you can’t understand what I’m saying most of the time😂.

Love it. I try to wash my hair only once a week however I use product for putting my hair back for work (I’m a security officer) and for performance (I’m a folklorico dancer and other styles AND mariachi) so my hair has to be slicked professionally a lot. Of Course I rest it on off days. Thank you for your tips!
