Why Everyone Hates Asian Americans

Asian Americans are in a unique situation where they face a lot of hate, but have very few true allies. Asians in Asia cannot truly relate to the Asian American experience, and many even look down upon them for being "Westernized". On the other hand, American society at large refuses to acknowledge Asian Americans as "real Americans" and continues to throw non-stop racial abuse, violence and discrimination at Asian Americans.

In this video, we will discover the range of complex challenges that all Asian Americans face - most of which center around racism and hate - and discuss how Asian Americans can unite and start overcoming the obstacles in their way.

This video is about awareness and understanding. Not finger pointing. Because what matters are the actions we take from this point on to address the challenges we face. Let's be honest, Asians in the West have been way too passive and forgiving while others treat us as punching bags. I encourage you to start doing more to stand up for yourself and your peers. Nothing changes unless we challenge the status quo.

I date asian American in highschool and constantly being bullied and harassed for it to the point where we are afraid to be seen in public together, it's horrible but i never gave up on my relationship with him, we're married btw for almost 13 years now, i never regretted anything, he's probably the kindest men I've ever meet, leagues better than any other men I've meet, and if you're wondering I'm white.

I got more Asian American history from the small segment in this video than my entire schooling period.

As a Latino, Asians in the United States felt like having a brother or sister in the same struggle through migration and discrimination

Please excuse my language: When I hear people say “some people in Asia are also racists too” as a justification, it sounds to me the logic is the same with “since someone are eating shit, therefore, you can eat shit too”. As a human, it’s not okay to eat shit in any way….

i just finished watching a show on Netflix called Warriors. It's mainly about the Chinese who brought over to the US as slave labor. A lot of them worked intensely difficult jobs for little pay and were often treated like animals. Ironically a few weeks ago a white man made a racist gesture toward me, which I found to be slightly ironic after watching the Netflix series. I was born in Korea but have lived in the US for over 50 years. I have no accent but of course look Asian. Racism is very much still a problem in 2024. It may not be as blatant as it was in earlier times of Amercian history but I assure you it still exists.

I'm an American, and I never understood why people hate Asian-Americans. I've never thought of them as anything other than Americans. In Colorado, there are many Japanese-Americans, due to many Japanese internment camps of the '40s being located here. There are also a lot of Vietnamese-Americans. These people are some of the best and kindest people I've ever met, and it makes me sad that they're discriminated against and their heritages aren't appreciated. I hope people will change their mindsets about Asian-Americans and accept them more.

As a Uzbek, Iranian, Korean and Russian (Asia side), I can get people calling me an invader for invading Ukraine (Mainly Ukrainians) and a lot of people call Iranians like me terrortists because of bombing Israel. It is so bad to have this bad things whether your from Asian Russia, Middle East, Central Asia, East Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia. We need to fight to stop this racism.

As an Indian, I feel for the other Asians who are living in the west. People in the west are losing their minds and too violent these days.

I am British. I respect all nations living in the country. I am an immigrant myself. So I respect all races who call this land home. I have a soft spot for Asians. The ones I have met are hardworking, law-abiding, very polite, and kind. I am aware that there are some historical conflicts between Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, and Korean due to historical events. But I treat everybody the same.

People hate us because we work harder and outperform everyone else on average, whether we're professionals or laborers. No, this is not 'Model Minority' stereotyping; it's true. Mark Twain said as much 150 years ago, comparing Chinese to white workers: "They work as hard as the day is long and there is not a lazy one among them; a disorderly Chinam$&n is rare; a lazy one does not exist. Where a white man complains of want of work, a Chinam$%n has no complaint. He always finds something to do." A few years later, the Rev. George Pentecost would compare Chinese immigrants favorably against European immigrants and native-born ones, saying the Chinese were the superior [laborers]: "The Chinese are thoroughly good workers; that is why the laborers here hate them." As for professionals, over 2/3 of the patents at Qualcomm, Nvidia and Intel - the top chip companies - have at least one Asian Am inventor. If you're sick, do you want a Filipino nurse or someone else?

As a Chinese, can everyone just stop judging others by ethnicity and actually judge by character? The amount of racism going on is disgusting 🤮

I was born in America, and I'm an Asian American. I've dealt with all kinds of stupidity this world has to offer. All I can say is that social media presence made it a lot worse for people thru psychology
Everyone's upbringing may be different, but what we can all have in common is by treating others kindly with love and respect.

In the past, you were discriminated against because Asia was very poor. Now, you were discriminated against because Asia is rising. It's sad.
