I definitely got a ticket for this last year. Ive gotten used to driving newer vehicles and hopped in my MILs car and the streets were well lit. When I realized they were off I switched them on and got pulled over. Cop said "I see you fixed your mistake. Still gotta give you a ticket"

Police departments need to start doing awareness campaigns about daytime running lights not being headlights. Also automatic lights need to be a standard required safety feature.
