Trump's Transition Plans Are Completely Falling Apart
Показать описание
Donald Trump's transition plans have very quickly fallen apart as his nominees have come under intense scrutiny with all of their horrible pasts coming into the spotlight. Trump thought it would be a piece of cake to get the worst people in the country appointed to positions of power, but he's facing a tremendous amount of backlash from both the public and his own Party. This is not what he expected and he's furious about it, as Farron Cousins explains.

As we brace for, of course, the worst four years that this country may ever face. It is a little comforting to watch the chaos that is unfolding behind the scenes with Donald Trump's transition team. Because day after day we're getting revelation after revelation about one or more of the horrible human beings that he has picked to run government agencies, whether it's Pete Hegseth, whether it's Matt Gaetz, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Tulsi Gabbard, Kristi Nome. Just horrible information dump after horrible information dump. And according to new reports, a lot of this is happening because Donald Trump, as per usual, is going off script. Here is what's being reported. Donald Trump has a staff that worked on his campaign and that then became the transition team. Those people put together lists of potential nominees for cabinet positions, people that had been vetted, right? We know all the dirty secrets. We know of all the skeletons in the closet. We're not worried about trying to get these people through a confirmation because they're relatively clean. Here you go, Donald. They're all loyalists. They're all easy nominations. Just do it and we're good. But Trump decided probably at the request of Elon Musk to just go totally nuts. And by God, he did. So a lot of these people that are of course, suffering from humiliation after humiliation in the press, it's because Donald Trump didn't look at the simple list that his staff had put together for him. Let me read you this.
Beyond the celebration and behind closed doors, much was not going. According to plan. The transition has properly vetted some potential nominees, but Trump has also been operating off his own script with many of his personnel choices, choosing unvetted candidates and acting outside the transition structure in a way that has immediately created serious political challenges. According to interviews with 18 people involved, most of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity to speak, frankly, the President-elect has been largely unfazed and soaking in his win on the Mar-a-Lago patio, they say. But some of those people brought baggage. Senior transition officials have grown concerned about the confirmation process for both Gates and Pete Hegseth Trump's nominee to be defense secretary. Four people close to Trump said, but Trump made clear he was not inclined to withdraw either selection, convinced that the incoming Republican controlled Senate would support them. People close to him said, listen, it's not about whether Trump thinks he can get these people through or not.
Like every single Senator, Republican and Democrat could sign a letter right now telling Donald Trump we won't confirm this person. And you know what Donald Trump would do? He would move forward with the nomination. And do you know why? This is where his mental illnesses come into play. Okay? That textbook narcissism, as defined by the DSM five, his own brain won't allow him to admit to himself that he made a mistake. So because of that, because of that narcissism, which again is a definable, diagnosable mental problem, we'll call it, he won't withdraw these people. He will move forward with it. I mean, we could get a report saying that one of his nominees, uh, was a serial killer in the 1990s, and they confessed to it. And he would still say, well, you know, I mean, you know, that was a long time ago. I'm not taking him out there because his narcissism won't let him do it.
And that of course could be his downfall. As we watch this clown car fill up with the goofiest mu people you've ever seen, sorry, almost just let it fly there. But the goofiest people you have ever seen, he's gonna double down. He's gonna triple down. It doesn't matter what comes out about them, it doesn't matter if he knows he can't get them through. He is physically and mentally incapable of admitting that he made a bad pick.
