This would be fun if you lived somewhere with a lot of outdoors activities; and I'm glad they made it more lovable. It's a funny phenomenon that there are Jeeps with $30k + in mods that'll never see dirt.

Ordered the 2.0 engine for my JLUR site unseen. This review makes me glad I did.

As a long time Jeep CJ owner, I appreciate this review via your much more unbiased "eyes", Brian. I especially liked the soft top demo you provided on the other link. I would greatly enjoy an enhanced version of it with a bit better lighting, but it certainly helped me understand the fundamental design changes Jeep made with the soft top. Well done, Sir!

Thx for saving the manual.
Think the ideal available engines would be
1. 4cyl turbo
2. V6 diesel
3. SRT v8

Can't wait to buy one of these. The new JLs and the TJs are my two favorites over the JK

Thanks for the insight Brian. As a non Jeep family we've always wondered about these but were always worried that it wouldn't fare too well in the city...where we are 99 percent of the time. But hearing that the turbo 4 is actually good and it drives acceptably may allow the wife to transition out of a crossover one day. She loves hatches (we've had a GTI and now a Type R) but likes a higher ground clearance. This seems to check the ride height option with an honestly handsome package that isn't your everyday crossover, with probably enough practicality.

Hope this model should come out to the Philippines too, and I see myself behind the wheel driving it in the wilderness

Did you get much road time with it? I have a JK and spend most my of my time on the road...with some light off-roading. I'm curious how this shapes up on the highway and city driving- wind noise, resistance, handling, and suspension? Body/frame noises? I love my JK but if the JL has worked out some of the little JK quarks with a better road ride - I'm sold!

Jeep! Jeep! Jeep!

Looking forward to seeing how the public accepts it. I know some guys in the industry frown on what Jeep has been hinting. Let’s see how it sells.

did you actually drive it on a paved/asphalt road (except the dirt road in the video)? Wondering, where your conviction about on-road improvements came from, as I dont see any driving on a real paved road in the video..thx

It looks like a new nicely equipped Sahara will clock in at 50k and a loaded Rubicon will be close to 60k., add the new diesel and I expect they will be pushing 70K. Ouch! Still I know a guy that has one on hold. FCA has been hitting it out of the park lately, but don't forget the little people.
I want the new JL based truck, but if it's 70k I'll be buying a Colorado ZR2.

How do I get to be one of the guys that gets to drive the new jeep?

TFL Car beat you to the punch. They already drove it 1000 miles and posted it to youtube

I love how these "hipster" types take these Wranglers off-road and talk about how great they are; it's a Jeep, it's supposed to be good off road. All these refinements and niceties only mean one thing; less "Jeep waves".
