Unless they changed the design, there is no split zipper on this so you have to open it up almost all the way to get in/out, reach outside for things, etc.. This means if you live in an area with mosquitos or gnats, you will be sleeping with them. I bought the XL almost 2 years ago and I sent it back (they were nice enough to refund me). I was told there was a patent that forced them to use that zipper design, but honestly other hammocks use a split zipper design, so not sure I believe that answer. Beyond that, you have to buy their sleeping pad for the XL to work as expected. All in all it was an o.k. hammock, but the zipper design was a complete failure and made the hammock DOA for me.

Ive been useing Hennessy hammocks for years. Nothing beats a super shelter that can fit in a pack. Been using the safari xl for about a decade and its still in great shape.

I’m not trying to be rude. But I’ve lived in the wilderness in the unforgiving Sierra Nevada mountains for 8 years and I never once needed any of these luxury items. For me less was more as I kept it moving. What do you think?

I've the Warbonnet Ridgerunner and Sleep fine in it. Use it and a 6 foot tarp and I'm good for the night.

Always hated that saying. Babies sleep 2 to 3 hrs at a time. I want to sleep like a coma patient

i just put a tarp over my hammock, it has a few holes that i patch every time i use it but i think that just adds to its character

I think its nice it's off the ground away from bugs and you get to sleep in a dry place
