The new E-Class: A bridge between tradition and digitalisation

Stuttgart. For over 75 years, the E-Class has set the standard for mid-range luxury saloons. In 2023, Mercedes-Benz will open a new chapter for the business saloon: the new E-Class points the way in the transition from the combustion engine to electric drive. At the same time, its new electronics architecture allows a comprehensive digital user experience. The first saloon models of the 214 series will arrive at the
European sales partners in autumn 2023.
The new E-Class (length/width/height: 4949/1880/1468 millimetres) has the proportions of a classic three-box saloon: the short front overhang and long bonnet are followed by a greenhouse which is set well back. The passenger area is generously dimensioned, partly owing to the two-centimetre longer wheelbase (2961 millimetres) compared to the preceding series. The luggage capacity is up to 540 litres.

When the new E-class first came out, I wasn't very convinced by the design. But now, looking at the estate version, I'm 100% with this car.

The exterior styling is awesome. I don't want angry birds or tik tok in my bloody car though. I want a few real & permanent switches for climate and audio controls. Reverse the awful tesla-inspired interior trends, get rid of the awful touch screen switches on the steering wheel and the ridiculous door handles, and it would be perfect.

All Honda Jazz door panels can accomodate a big bottle of water and so much more!
Mercedes estate door pockets — almost nothing.

And it will stop you driving into the car in front while you are taking 10 seconds to flick through the options and do something simple like switch on the demister.
Just looks cheap with shiny black plastic.

The new design of the estate is just so clean, precise and elegant. Looks terrific from all angles, particularly the 3/4 view from the rear. Unfortunately, some dislikes such as the black gloss (plastic?) grill surround is cheap and awful, and the instrument cluster needs to be a binacle not as a tablet as this looks weak and out of keeping with rest of quality fitout.

Considering the usable space behind the 2nd row, I'm shocked they didn't offer reclining seats back there.

You'd be better off buying the S580.

the middle field (above the number plate) is only red paint, on the right cars there is also a light there..
here you only get a FAKE 😟
(I understand the three-pointed star concept, but there is a lot of empty space inside the housing without any functions)
