Thanks so much for these videos and podcasts. Just took and PASSED my Instrument Check Ride, and having listened to these helped reduce the stress of the exam greatly.

This series was super helpful. Watched them all about a week before my instrument ride, implemented the tips, and passed no problem!

Thanks so much for all your videos! I wouldn’t worry about the length, the information is so helpful and speaking for myself I don’t mind the length one bit.

Seth “You need to rethink your life” Lake! 😂 Thank you for this video series. My ride is in about a week and a half. I’ll check in to let you know how it goes. I can say one thing already: my anxiety level is MUCH lower now that I’ve watched these videos (about a dozen times each, of course.)

Well, Seth, I have now gone through your 3-part series on the ACS. I sure do wish I could come and train with you. I live in Texas, so I'd have to fly my plane to Arkansas for probably a month to six weeks to get 'er done. If you have students come in from out of your area please let me know how they do that. I'd like to complete the IFR by March 2024. BTW, these videos are so very helpful. Thanks!

Great series Seth! I have done Flight Insights, Sporty's, PilotEdge Real World IFR, etc, etc, this has been the best review for the practical I found to date! One thing I noticed is the ACS you used is a bit differnt than the latest where they have made changes to the appendix. Have they made changes to the allowance on gps approaches where we can use all gps approches now, just need to be different minima (LPV versus LNAV, etc)?

Seth, I am really getting a lot out of your ACS review, thank you!
Your reference at around 38:30 to going missed early and "climbing to the MSA" if you have full lateral deflection is interesting. Nowhere in 15B or 16B does the MSA get any explanation other than "it is used for emergencies." I fly inside a Mode C veil under both commercial and military Bravo decks, so my concerns when going missed early have been a) don't turn before the MAP and b) don't exceed the max altitude for the missed approach. The MSA for most of our local approaches from one direction would exceed the missed's max altitude and send us well into the Bravo, but as mountains are much less likely to get out of my way than random F16's, the MSA is suddenly looking a bit more important...
I am taking this as a lesson to be thoroughly aware of terrain on approach and to use all the geosynching that Foreflight offers to show me the immediate threat and make the best altitude decision. Presumably ATC would curtail my climb as needed, but if you have any other insights about this default usage of the MSA, I would be grateful to hear them.
