Installation Guidelines for Ceramicspeed BB86, BB92, and PF41 frames
Introduction 00:00
In this video we're going to cover the installation of
CeramicSpeed Bottom Brackets, for the BB 86, BB 92, press-fit 4130 platforms and
varying widths for different mountain bikes. It’s all going to follow the same
process.
Installation 00:20
First make sure the frame is totally clean. Then you go ahead and start with the non-drive side cup first. Place the CeramicSpeed logo at the top of the cup and place a little thin
layer of grease, around the outside edge of the cup here.
At the drive side, you insert the bolt and a centering cone, to help bring
everything together in perfect alignment.
You should be aware of any internal hoses, routing or electronic cables.
Make sure that everything is nice and clear.
Smaller diameter: 01:45
If you have a smaller diameter like a BB 86 for Shimano or GXP, there's gonna be a reducing sleeve inside, this helps protecting the spindle, creates longer-lasting environment for the bearings and protects those cables inside.
Larger spindle 01:57
With a larger spindle, something such as a 30 millimeter or a DUB platform, there's going to be a plastic sheet, because there's reduced room.
The plastic sheet will go inside to protect the cables from contacting the spindle and gives you the good protection interior that you need.
Then you apply a grease to the outside edge of the cup. Next you insert half of the sleeve and bring it all together.
Ensure that both cups are flushed to the frame, sitting nice and
flat with no gaps or spaces. Clean off any grease, check both bearings and make sure
there's no binding or pinching.
