Stephen, excellent tip! My golf game has been in a slump the past few years and as a result, been trying to hit the ball harder. My hands feel like they are drifting away from by body in the impact zone and I am coming over the top with weak shots that slice and balloon. Practiced with keeping left hand under left shoulder at impact and hit much better shots. BTW your videos are excellent and I've become a subscriber.

I like your teaching. You provide some great swing thoughts. Looking to try this one out tomorrow.

That move doesn’t cause the club to steepen?

Great video. Is this more like leverage golf swing? And, how to feel left wrist bold in the impact position? Thanks.

Hello Stephen, I like your Videos, the helped me a lot and completely redesigned my swing. Am I correct that in your Approach there is in the downswing no active weightshift and the hips are passive - all driven by the pressure from the right shoulder down to the feet on the ground?greetings from Austria

Do the knuckles point down after impact, I only ask as your hands are pointed up in the demo.

What we're really talking about here is getting the arm swing to catch up to the shoulders and torso at impact (and eventually passing the shoulders and torso past impact), rather than dragging and shoving the swinging elements (arms-hands-club) around with the shoulders and torso.

It's a rare moment of sanity in the age of "only rotation and totally passive arms." If you're a tour-level player who's totally ingrained a free-swinging and full-releasing motion to the point where it's totally second nature, maybe you can rely on that automatically in a way that feels like "passive arms." But in reality the arms of great players are not "passive" at all in the swing, and most amateurs will only get worse with the idea of passive arms.

I'll bet this teacher knows a lot about John Jacobs' ideas (I know he's a Pete Cowen guy, but still). You really can't have a top-quality swing without the free-swinging motion of the arms and club _and_ the turning motion of the shoulders and torso (along with a lower body providing some amount of create resistance, stability, and clearance at the right times). People who are convinced it has to be only one or the other are just running down a blind alley.

I like your teaching Stephen. I need to clarify something. I recently found too much tension in the swing and I am trying to lighten it up. So far it is resulting in more lag and better release. If I fully extend my arms all the way out before I start my backswing, isn't this this promoting tension throughout the arm? Thank you for your teachings

Haven't a clue what he's talking about as he's not very good at instruction at all.
