How would you get back into the room if you put that on the door

If you are not present in the room they can do it for maintenance/safety concerns, (housekeeping unless you opt out), but if you are currently in the room you have the legal right to privacy, and no hotel staff can just go in if guests are present without recorded consent/ police having a warrant.

Ok, guess what? You are on their property and they have every right to enter the room, regardless of occupancy.
