I remember Charlie Pride and loved his voice. and because I am black and found out he was black I loved him a little more. Country people. singers are some of the realest folks you want to meet. I'm from the city an it was my mother who came from the country that even got me to listen to country music. I remember every Sat. night we let her watch her show HeeHaw.at first we were thinking let's get through this dull hour. but then as I watched them I thought these folks are having real fun. wholesome. and it wasn't dull at all. my mom lived in the city for about 70years and never stopped referring to back home .I use to wonder why is she referring to where she grew up as back home when her home is now in the city. it was the country life she always yearned for. I myself began to grow very very fond of the country life
the more we went to the country to visit. so much hospitality.tables full of lots of good food. you got full. one of my favorite country singer is Dolly Parton. I can see why she is the sweetheart of Nashville. she is the realist and coolest.
