I'm so happy that digital cameras have moved to an era where the image quality is basicly perfect in all of them and we can just focus more on personal preference. I mean of cource it has always been like that to some extent, but in the last 5 years it has really become more and more true that every camera is more then good enough for almost everything.

I upgraded from an X-T2 to an X-T4 so I'll add my two cents for anyone who may care or be in the same place. Not to disagree with Omar here, but I will; IMHO the only reason to buy (note: buy not upgrade) an X-T2 or X-T3 over the X-T4 is the money. It's a better camera than both in every regard. Not wanting to have so much $ wrapped up in your camera body is 100% valid and if that's the case, get a used X-T3 if you can swing it. If, however, you're thinking of buying the X-T2/3 over the X-T4 because those are "just as good", they are not. There will be no difference in image quality between the 3 and the 4 as it's the same sensor, however, the benefits of IBIS should not be understated. It's a game changer. I don't know anyone who shoots only in perfectly sunny daytime conditions. If that's the case, use an iPhone 11 Pro as it will take stunning pictures in good light. IBIS makes previously ungettable shots gettable (I know that's not a word) and greatly expands options in poor light. Ever want to take a shot at f4 or 5.6 in low light in order to achieve the depth of field or sharpness you're looking for? Guess what, the X-T4 can do it, the 2/3 can't without bumping the ISO way up to unusable levels. That alone is worth it to me.

The IQ between the 2 and the 3/4 is 100% noticeable to my eye. Even in Omar's example here in the first minute of the video, I could see the difference. Put it up on a larger monitor or a TV and it will be extremely apparent. If you don't think you need the video stuff, I didn't either, but now that I have the 4 I'm finding I shoot video more often. It's so easy and seamless and I'm really liking the results especially with OIS lenses.

The flippy screen on the 4 is annoying for the first couple days but you'll get used to it and it really is better for video. The larger size is really negligible. You can't fit the 2, 3, or 4 in your pocket comfortably so you'll end up bringing a bag or strap and, at that point, who cares? If size is that big a concern, get the X-T30. The larger size is actually more comfortable to hold in my hands especially with the larger lenses (YMMV of course).

Sorry to prattle on but I hope it helps someone! I agonized over the decision and more points of view is always better than fewer.

Awesome comparison. And the winner for best intro of 2020 goes to Omar. 👌

I love my X-T2, normally with a 27 on it.
And I love the extra grand in my pocket that it would cost me to change it.
Don`t fall for the iphone like new model consumer cycle.
I love my X-T2, normally with a 27 on it.

I've just traded my x-e4 for an x-t2 - It might sound crazy to some but for how I shoot and for what I use the x-t2 isn't a downgrade. In fact, the extra stop of mechanical shutter speed, no touch screen (my focus point moves with the touch screen turned on which drives me crazy) and a more rugged body all count as upgrades to me. I live in the UK and changeable weather makes me nervous with the x-e4. I came from shooting Pentax, so I'm used to being able to take my camera anywhere. Granted, the X-T2 might not be as rugged as a K-3 but it's close. I'm very happy with my switch, plus I got money back on the trade in!

I bought a used XT2 for $600 and really love the Fuji experience. I have a Sony A6600 and the Sigma trio of primes which work great in most situations, but I love the Fuji experience and the colors/film simulations. My Sony has IBIS, but I really don't miss it much in the XT2. I've been using a cheap 15-45 kit lens (that came with an X-t100 that I bought for my wife) and have been blown away by the colors and sharpness. Your lens reviews and recommendations are gold and will really help me with lens decisions in the future.

I am a Canon EOS R owner, but I must say, you hit it out of the ballpark with this funny and entertaining intro! It was so nostalgic it brought a ton of memories from the 70's and 80's when I used to watch the boxing fights on TV.

I love XT2 and I dont have any reason to upgrade to XT3 or XT4. Grains from “old” cameras are gold! 🤘🏼

This made me smile, laugh and turned my day around. Thanks Omar. Also, I love a video which remains open to older and fully capable cameras. Love it on all counts!

The champion is the X-H1! With IBIS, flip screen, face focus while doing video, great grip, small lcd monitor, etc. Bring that on to the fight and you will see how good it will do against the others.
Great video entry! Good job.

I bought the XT-2 about a year ago and recently bought the x-100-v and somehow I still use the XT-2 way more. I think the XT-2 has something about it. I love the image quality and the general user experience and especially the horizontal lcd screen.

Don't forget about the XH1. Almost the same price as the xt2 on the used market, same features and with sensor stabilization

Here's my issue with the flippy screen vs. not having one. ( I have both styles on different systems) I like them BOTH:
I appreciate the flippy in difficult- and tight quarter- shooting situations where I need to have the screen at odd angles to frame a scene which my subjects may be moving...or to position my body at a 45 degree angle to discretely shoot this or that and still see the screen; or for helping a subject frame themselves selfie style etc. etc., but when I am out and about with my X-T2 with "just" the pull up/down/vertical screen, I love the compact nature of it and seldom miss the flipper.
Each is just a tool in the end and as many sensible pros point out, it's ALL about how you will use said tool and if you actually need this or that feature.. (For me it's similar to the feature of a million frames per second or whatever shooting stills; I mean, not being a sports shooter earning a living by getting just that ONE moment in a million, I simply do . not. care. at. all.
This goes also for the megapixel wars.(Anyone remember the Canon Rebels with what 10, 12 m's? I still have shots in my portfolio from this! Not to mention my film cameras)
Anyway, back to the flippy vs not having one, I'm sure it's easy for me to say this because I've worked with an an articulating screen for years- perhaps I'm bored with them(?) but yeah, there is just something I really like about the X series without it.
Can it be practical to have a flippy? Sure. Will you look like Uncle Bob with a camcorder? A little. (*but who cares haha.) But what do YOU need for YOUR needs in real life...in actual terms of usage?
Don't be the guy who spends thousands just for the thrill of having the latest and greatest only to sell it for hundred months down the line...or the guy who has the latest and greatest camera but can't use it because he can't afford data storage space, a pc to edit the huge files, lights, better glass, fuel or means to get where you need to be to shoot. etc. etc. etc.
Learn to love what you have and you'll have what you love. :-) Only upgrade if you genuinely it. Ok. I'm done.

Get the flippy. Get the non-flippy. Just get on with your life and capture life. Ok, NOW I'm done. Promise. :-)

I'm sticking with the X-T2 and X-Pro2. They are more than enough for my digital photography needs.

I own an xt3, flip out display looked very cheap to me, all my cheap cameras has that, the articulated display has a very pro feeling I love it... Also I have to admit... Xt2 iq is absolutely beautiful, colors and tonal range is more beautiful than xt3 and xt4... Theres something on the sensor that puts character to each image, xt3 and xt4 are kinda plain, more for editing but xt2 is beautiful without making any adjustment
