I wish I could have these groups show up after I restart chrome. I can imagine having an academic group for a particular research topic and coming back to it whenever I want.

great tip as usual! Had to set the flag to enabled right away. Finally the tab-hoarding has come to an end. It's group hoarding from now on! Seriously, I am very grateful!!!

I teach high school and I'm using this feature every day to keep organised. The evening before, I get up every tab I need for each different class for the next day and then group them under a tab for each of those classes. I am then organised with all online resources needed and ready to go. It means I can easily go to the next resource without a break looking for the resource (less chance of students going off-task).
I generally keep the tabs going with my online programme, Google Classroom and class Google site (if I have made one) under a tab all the time so I can check these things for classes I may not have that day. I colour code everything that I can with my different classes so it's very helpful that I can do that as well.

It's really a game-changer for organisation for teachers.

The only annoying thing is that when I shut down Google Chrome, the tabs go and I have to set them up again.

Great tutorial and this is expecially helpful to people who are reserching or teaching through a shared screen. You can glance over and see the category you are looking for and see the tab quicker. You can imagine trying to toggle back and forth to a specific website tab and slowing down your presentation to your audience. it may help someone visually challenged also.
You can use the extension -Extensify for gathering alll your extensions off the top browser and disabling them if you are not using them and then, TOBY ext to manage or collapes tabs off the broweser. Hope I said this right LOL

Thanks for your video, it was very helpful in explaining the concept. I wish that somehow the groupings could be preserved across multiple power downs and power ups. I have to redefine them every time I power my computer down and then re-start it.

Be good if you could click on the tab group name and it ‘collapsed’ the site then click to expand. You could view a lot more data that way..?

Love the Idea, But It seems to disappear once I close down!! The Tabs have gone??? Absolute waste of time if it does not retain the tabs for the following day, Might as well just click into bookmarks!!
