I spent literally decades studying English without paying to much attention on phrasal verbs..In a certain way, I can say that I regret that..My teachers should have told me they matter and that I should learn them, baby steps, but learning. I've been teaching for more than 15 years - I suggest my students to study them like I still do: by groups of 2, 3 a week, reviewing, by context, paying attention to movies and series (when you really get them entirely). Knowing them makes the student feels more confident.

Thank you for your advice. I love your class.
At the beginning, I used to hate phrasal verbs although I loved learning English. However, I started loving those guys when I noticed they'll be everywhere. Two months ago, I started leaving sticky notes in some places. e.g. I write down "take out" on a sticky note and leave it on my fridge door. Or I leave "take off" written on a sticky note where I'm used to leaving my shoes when I come home. Somehow I remember easily those phrasal verbs. It works for me, it should work for someone else. There is nothing to lose. Just try it on your own. 💕

i couldn't believe that you're actually a non-native speaker. That accent is so perfect to me, i really love your accent. Anyway thank you teacher for each of your videos it's really really helpful and useful. I hope my english is good.

A good way of learning phrasal verbs is to know the meaning of the preposition who is follwing the verb. It doesn't work 100 per cent but it helps a lot.
Good points as you always do, Hadar. Thank you

I totally agree with you, teacher! I learn them the same way I learn any verb, any vocabulary, without pressure!

Thanks Hadar. I am one of those people who hate phrasal verbs because it is difficult to keep in my memory so many different combinations of a verb with an adverb or prepotition, which each one have a different meaning. With your explanation I got a little less obsessed with this topic, nevertheless, I know that it is important to learn phrasal verbs to increase my vocabulary but not my fluency, as you said.

Hi.

Well. Many of us is always looking for the magic trick to be rich, loose wait, learn new stuff.
There is s trick that always has to be there. It is called mindset. Some people call it faith, others will.

You have to believe in whatever you are doing, make mistakes and always move forward.

Don't let fear rule your life.

Thank you very much for these helpful tips. I want to share with the community a way to remember phrasal verbs that really works for me. I associate the meaning of the phrasal verb with a verb that I already know. For example: tell off = scold = rebuke = reprimand. By asociating its synonims it's easier remember its meaning. And then I try to use it in a phrase related to my life.

Good morning madam. I 'm glad to say that I became your fan. I firstly thought with out having the knowledge of phrasal verbs, I can't be a good speaker of English. To achieve that, I tried to learn many phrasal verbs but I feel it is very difficult to remember them. But after watching your video, I felt relaxed and I understand how much impartant they are. Through the context we can get its meaning. So there is no need to pay more focus on them, leaving other important things. Thanks madam

The most important is understand the context in the communications and asociate the meaning of the words according to the context!

Thanks Hadar. I don't use phrasal verbs very often but able to catch them out in the context of a conversation.

Sometimes I love 'em and sometimes I hate 'em, but learning them in context is useful.

Hadar, as always you're opening our minds for something that we have like a rule and actually it isn't like that at all.

I'm glad you made a video about this!
Honestly I know a lot of them but I don't use them that much and I'm cool about it, but some friends kinda obsess about this thinking that, in order to become fluent you need to know many phrasal verbs, that it made me feel insecure about it.
Now I feel better 😂 Thank you so much for the explanation and the tipp! Have a nice day! 😄

You make some good points, Hadar. I'll have to pass them on (transfer, communicate, discharge, divulge, reveal, disclose?) your message to my students!

even when we can comunicate without phrasal verbs, they are very commonly used in informal contexts, there is where I see it as a must to follow others conversations.

There's no point listing the phrasal verbs and learning by heart each of them cuz although you've learnt them, after some time you cannot remember all of them. I think the best way is just to learn them in context . By the way, clear explanation ever, Hadar . thanks ! :)
