Ballantine Beer Commercials

In 1933, after Prohibition was lifted, the Ballantine company was acquired by two brothers, Carl and Otto Badenhausen. The Badenhausens grew the brand through its most successful period of the 1940s and 1950s, primarily through clever advertising.

Ballantine Beer was the first television sponsor of the New York Yankees. It was during this period that the brand was elevated to the number three beer in the U.S. It was also during this period that the company grew into one of the largest privately held corporations in the United States. Ballantine Beer enjoyed a high level of success into the early 1960s, however, by the mid-sixties, the brand began losing popularity. In 1965 Carl Badenhausen sold the company but remained at the helm until his retirement in 1969.

2:21 - If I owned a view like that, I don’t think I’d turn my back to it all day.

Do you have the Hamm's commercial used in the "Sing Along With Mitch" TV show that was similar to the last one?

My favorite beer. It may not be the best but it's good and I love the look of the bottle and logo.

A few of those Ballantines and you'd have to change the name of that show to Belch Along with Mitch...

How can beer be "crisp"? It's a liquid. Reminds me of "plump, juicy raisins" in Raisin Bran.

1) Originally seen in 1960. Allen Swift is the voice.
2) 1961, when Ballantine was a regular sponsor of "SING ALONG WITH MITCH".
4) Another 1961 commercial as seen on "SING ALONG WITH MITCH".

Another forgettable beer. Anyone remember Brew 101, made on highway 101 in LaLa Land but gone by somewhere in the 1970's
