What's Yinlin's Best Equipment? | Echoes and Weapon Guide

Yinlin is a character with a lot of potential. Many previous pre-release guides have heavily pushed for one echo set or weapon over others. Yinlin's kit, however, has more to it than meets the eye. She potentially has better options waiting for her on release.

CORRECTION: Yinlin's weapon was buffed on release. 12% all resonance damage was changed to "Increase the damage bonus by 12%". Considering where damage comes from in her kit, this isn't a huge addition to her numbers. I am not 100% certain if this weapon is 12% electro damage or 12% elemental damage, as if it is just electro, the effect does not work on characters like Encore, while if it is 12% elemental damage it should work on other rectifier users.

People are still learning. I upgraded 1 electro set for the calcharo and an aero set for the jinyan. I upgraded a monlit set for all dps subs, changing only a 3 cost of the elemental bonus elemental of the character I will use the set. The same with healing. However, everything is energy regen. Late game we can think about building correctly, but at the moment, monlit is superior for buffs, and even causes a lot of damage. My yinlin has 60 rate, 235 crit damage, 160 energy regen, and 50% electro bonus. It already does enough damage, and also buffs the calcharo a lot

I see the benefits to both sets but you do lose out on a lot of DMG going with MC vs VT on Yinlin. I feel the buff’s she gives on top of her own Insane DMG are higher going with VT vs far less personal DMG only for the +22% the MC set gives to the next user.

I’m adding the info from Prydwen here on her optimal rotation with the VT set/CR 4 cost/2x DMG% 3 cost/2x ATK% 1 cost
With about 19% ER/36% ATK/42% CR/84% CD…. These stats are from Echoe’s only and do not include talents/weapons/character lvl

​​⁠Her optimal rotation only takes about 4sec if you are able to effectively swap cancel(truthfully, takes me a bit longer as I’m still learning how to get all 4 swap cancel’s in without screwing up the rotation lol). Also, performing an intro, both her skills, and 3 Basic ATK’s are plenty to build up her forte gauge. Rotation looks like this:

1st skill "magnetic roar"
2nd skill “lightening execution" (swap cancel)

B4(swap cancel)
Ult
Chameleon cipher(swap cancel)

This is the best and most effective way to build forte gauge and apply punishing mark to all enemies. (Obviously want to make sure "sinner’s mark" is on all enemies before applying "punishing mark" which is why "chameleon cipher" is used at the end of the rotation). Also ensures you have 100% uptime on punishing mark

I just wanted to add this as she really doesn’t need much field time to build up her forte.

dude why mention that yinlin has 2 skills instead of 3 like clacharo for the thunder set when that DOESNT matter at all.
the set increases thunder dmg, ONCE when you cast skill and ONCE when you heavy attack. casting 2 basic attacks or 2 skills alone wont give you the 2 stacks. is 1 stacks for each type of action. you can check in game you dont even need to be in combat. open the screen after 2 heavy or 2 skills and you will see only a 15% increment.

Other people like iamrivenous showed even in a invested calcharo team moonlit set losses to much dam compared to void thunder and he has number to prove it its like a 23% damage lost 😂
