Never use duct tape. Long term the duct tape will lose its adhesive and peal off. Use aluminum tape instead. It's used for HVAC duct work precisely for heated vents. Great video!

Just finished side venting out the right side. My biggest complaint is the adhesive bracket. The adhesive bracket doesn't stay in place when screwing in. The cheap adhesive just pulls right up. I don't understand why GE couldn't have just put a predrilled hole to screw it into

It’s becoming RARE that dryers have access panels to change the vent ports. This is great GE kept it easy. Otherwise you’ll be taking the whole dryer apart.

I am left side venting GE Dryer Model GFD65. I bought the GE side vent kit WE16X29317. The exhaust duct will sit on the internal wires of power cord connection. My question is, Will the heat running through the exhaust duct melt these wires? There is no way for the exhaust duct to avoid touching these wires.

@0:47 = how, how, HOW for the love of god, do you actually remove the break-out panel?!?!? I've been struggling with this 1/2 hour! I'm convinced my GE dryer doesn't have a functional "knock-out panel" - it's secretly just a circular indentation in the metal, made out to look like a knockout panel. WHY can't they explain HOW to do this exactly! Hammer & chisel? I've tried that, and managed to knock several dents into the outside of the dryer, and the supposed "knock-out panel" doesn't budge :( VERY

I can’t left vent without the vent touching the wires. This seems like a fire hazard. And the replacement tab that is supposed to be keeping the whole thing together keeps coming unstuck. Please advise!

i just bought a new ge electrical dryer GTX33EASKWW Model, 6.2cu ft, after they installed, Is it normal to smell like burning and the top left of the dryer is to hot to touch, in only about 2 minutes of running?

2:13 tab with the double stick tape is seen moving. Is that right? It's supposed to move or hold the rerouted vent pipe in place? Seems that is a cheap way to hold the main trunk in place as the risk of fire is high under a dryer, should it become dislodged after the unit is slid in place and used daily. How can this connection be as permanent as the original?
