NASA | Operation IceBridge Flies the Ice Caps

Ice caps are simply small versions of ice sheets, measuring in at a maximum area of 50,000 square kilometers (about 19,000 square miles). It's their small and thin stature that makes ice caps more prone to melt in a warming Arctic. Charles Webb of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., explains the importance of monitoring ice caps in the Canadian Arctic

A few flights within NASA's Operation IceBridge -- an airborne mission to monitor Earth's polar ice -- are adding to the long-term record of ice cap changes. Such a record can provide insight into ice cap dynamics as well as provide an early-warning indicator of the impacts of climate change.

@Shift4chizzle Wrong, but the method is pretty sound, if you assume the Bible is literal truth - which admittedly few people do! Even if you assume the extremes of everyone living to the ripe old age of Methuselah (~1000 years), that they didn't have kids until the year they died, and take Luke's (larger) genealogy from Abraham to Jesus (~40 generations), you still end up with an age of the universe of only around 45, 000 years. Still a factor of 100, 000 out.

@winterstellar we actually dont know that the earth is 6000 years old, i am christian and i find it hard to believe. jesus never said it was 6000 years old, some guy "figured" it out while looking at the time line of stuff which makes it less trustworthy

@bujin1977 ok but what if God created other civilizations first and then earth and then humans, u know what i mean? i know that in the Bible it says we are his superior race or something like that but think about it, it was humans writing it (yes in the words of jesus) but maybe they got stuff wrong u know they are only human, i know i am not making sense but that is cos i cant word it right, i will try PM u when i think of how to word it haha
