Completely forgot to mention in the video - the TD-27 module also supports the VH-13 with a dedicated preset. Most modules below the flagships haven't offered this before now!

I bought a TD27KV kit a few weeks ago. It is my first e-kit. I have been playing acoustic drums for 50 years. I own numerous acoustic drums and cymbals. I am happy with my TD27KV kit. The snare is the best part of the kit. The ride is also really good. I still consider e-kits to be toys but they have gotten to the level that I bought one. The price is high and I don't recommend that you buy a TD27 kit if you don't have the disposable capital.

I've owned a TD-27KV for about a month and I really really like it. The snare drum is where its at.

Bought the VAD506 and love them. I could never get used to electronic rack kits ( TD11 / TD25 ) with small pads after playing acoustics. Expensive absolutely, but they have the digital pads, so ATV or Pearl is not an option. Three issues. 1) They should have offered the VAD with a TD50 option. 2) There are three TRS connections in the cable snake that are not used when using the USB for the digital pads. So far I have been unable to use them for extra instuments. 3) Have not touched my Strat since I bough the drums ... lol.

I just pre-ordered the 306. Upgraded the high hat stand to a Tama to match my ICob Double Base Pedal. I'm pretty excited about it. You are right though, they should have gone with a 16 or 18 inch ride. I tried to upgrade to the 18inch ride CY-18DR but they would't let me. I also wanted the td27module but it was way to pricey. Vs Alesis, I still think this kit is the way to go.

I love the new lines they came out with. Yes they are pricey but considering what you are getting for the price I think it’s pretty competitive. I would like to see an option to get the new acoustic shell pack without the module.

Wow great and thorough Edrum news video!!! I agree with your assessment. Ideally I would love TD-27 module, the digital pads, thin crashes, the shallow 10” and 12” toms, the acoustic 14” floor tom and the KD 180L for the kick. I know it doesn’t match necessarily but it’s the most mobile and cleanest look at the lowest pro setup

Finally!!! Roland has made acoustic sized drums! I will be purchasing the toms and cymbals!! I kinda figure that Roland was going to do something big! I emailed them several months ago about making a out sized drums and they were evasive about their answers (just stay tuned!). I am a HAPPY

I’m looking into TD27 or VAD306...which would you prefer? I wish the VAD306 had the td27 module then it would be sold!!!

I like the kits. I am a DIY guy myself. The prices are so high. But the module is really something. I have played the 50 quite a few times. Those pads are simply the best the e-drum world has. I own a 17 with ATV set of cymbals. I would be interested in a snare, ride, 27 package and what they want for that.

Supposedly via Drum-Tec they have offered a video that shows the 50 module utilized for the unit. However I don’t know how the 27 module is as far as customizable options and I’m also not sure with the cable snake how you would go away from it without having to replace the cables with individual ones, my issue with E drums are the machine gun sounds on the toms, however I’m not sure what the mounting system would be for the 50 module to fit, some people say too the 30 module will work with it based on forum posts. The best part is the cymbals for this kit. Regardless, 3999 for the 3 piece kit, I’m sold, I can always swap the module and add to it or run a piggyback module

If you were hard pressed, what would you choose - the ATV aDrums (expanded set) or the Roland VAD-506? I’m trying to decide between the two for our Church, which is revamping all of its sound equipment, including the drums. I’d love your thoughts, please!

Basically Roland is like the iPhone of eDrums xD

I'm going 306 and buying the TD27 module for it. I don't really want the big giant cymbals of the others and won't miss the digital pads, but I have the option to move to future digital pads.

Hi I have had my Roland VAD506 for about 6 months now and one of my crash cymbals has stuck on one instrument and doesn't coke any more, I'm not a hard hitter, is there something I can do myself on the module or does it sound like it's a warranty issue,
Great reviews thanks Mark Brimecome 👍

Is Td-27 module better than Td-50?

Witch module do you prefer?

Thanks for the video!!

I have an old TD-nine.
Both my ride, and my crash are acting up. So I need to replace those.
I’m thinking of keeping my rack, toms, high hat.

I want to add the module, snare, ride, and crash. What do you think of that idea?

Would it be possible to use the VAD506 pads and cymbals with the Pearl mimic instead of the TD-27 module?

The part I’d like to understand on the td27 is the 28 ch midi USB . I saw a vid somewhere on day 1 and they were going through the kits on the little screen and occasionally I’d see the word EZ drummer! So I took a leap and figured that I could chose a preset from SD3 or EZ or the module presets. Even better they have a foot switch! It was invaluable to me on my TD20. Everything else about new module is awesome! From DrumTec with Sound Edition it’s € 1300. $1441.00 . I have no prices yet for the USA module only. But maybe $1500...? The best kit , VAD506, I’ve seen for $4800. The price is right for the extraordinary Kit. I can imagine my SD3 presets coming out of that and a pair of good monitors. The Alesis 12” floor wedges as a pair are getting rave reviews and on sale at Sweetwater for $600 for a pair. What a great combination for $5400. This would be my ultimate kit. I’d convert my 16x14 floor tom for this kit. Perhaps wrap in chrome foil. It wouldn’t hurt the look. I’d only stop playing to eat sleep and pee !!
