My dad, three beers in, got stuck in the back seat of one of these at the Philly Auto Show in 1990. 13 year old me had to round up some strangers to help me lift him out through the hatch.

Good times. Miss you, Dad

I love when the owner is laughing and wanting you to drive the car harder.

What a lovely shape of a vehicle. It's like a positive comment made with no ill or malicious intent.

OMG, THATS MY OLD LASER I SOLD A COUPLE YEARS AGO. IT HAS THE SAME RIMS ON IT AND HAS THE MITSUBISHI LOGO ON IT

Your point about lowered cars is spot on, for a daily driver it seems like such a hassle for so little benefit. It’s all fun and games until there’s a hole in your oil pan and your bumper’s ripped off.

What a beautiful Laser. Cars used to be so simple and charming, this one has been well loved and it shows.

My stepdad had a Laser in blue he bought for a hundred dollars off the side of the road and it drove for years. Those automatic seatbelts was one of the coolest things ever when I was younger.

I was 16 when this car was being sold in 1990. Every kid wanted one. It's was so ahead of it's time. So sad what happened to Mitsubishi and Chrysler.

I had a '92 Eagle Talon as my "first real job car". Black, manual. I had the more basic engine but I paid that off in 5 years. When the sun hit the hood in a certain way it shined like the colors in a soap bubble and I couldn't take my eyes off it. Those days are gone when a kid with a starting job could buy a cool car that's actually affordable and fund to drive. Thanks for bringing it back.

This hits right in the feels. My first new car was a 1990 Eagle Talon TSi AWD. It felt so much more fun than all the Mustang GTs my contemporaries were buying back in the day. Not as fast as them, but sounded better and way more fun in the twisties! I've been looking for a clean 1st gen DSM version in my nostalgia years...and they're all trashed or silly expensive, or both. Seeing a clean version running so smooth just brings back the memories. Thanks for the video!

I worked as a mechanic, at a Chrysler dealership, in the early 90s. I absolutely loved doing pre-delivery preps on these cars. We had to do test drives for pre-delivery. I especially loved the Eagle Talon TSI with the turbo. It was a little scrambler, especially with the 5-speed.

In 91 the Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX AWD Turbo was my first new car. I was an immigrant from the UK and my wife suggested that we were in a position to go buy a new car. A long story short after about four hours in the Mitsubishi dealership I rocketed off their lot in this wonderful car. This is an extremely well-designed car and Mustangs and Porches were invariably surprised when my all-black Mitsubishi 'Zero' hung with them and they couldn't shake it off. God how I loved that car. The AWD would let you run what felt like impossible corners, it felt like it was on rails. Fabulous little rockets, I miss mine.

We need 90s cars to be made again, bring back basic fun to drive, easy to maintain and cheap rides.

My first memories of going fast as a kid was in my dad’s blue 1990 Plymouth Laser RS. The “DOHC 16V INTERCOOLED”, the hood bulge, the pop-up headlights and automatic seatbelts.. I was awe-struck and instantly hooked. He would let me shift in the passenger seat as a kid while watching the fake boost gauge flop around. Now that he’s gone, I miss him, and I miss this car. I WILL own one. Thanks for this video.
