Even though George thought what he did was right for him, he also knew it was wrong, and he did feel sympathetic for his daughter at first, thinking she wouldn't win her dream date with Jet Screamer on account of his selfishness.

Lol. The ending when George thought what he did was right for him and thought his daughter would cry surprised George. George was trying to have his daughter set her priorities straight by focusing on school first including her finishing her homework from school. It did not turn out the way George wanted to happen.
