Ubuntu 19.10 - ZFS and EXT4 Memory Usage Benchmark and Comparison where we take a look at the new Ubuntu 19.10 Release and use and test out the ZFS Formatted File System. ZFS vs EXT4 Benchmarks. Which is better? We'll take a look at the two different partitioning schemes side-by-side and do a simple benchmark just to see the differences in Memory Usage since starting with Ubuntu 19.10 you have the option to select between the two partitioning schemes.

Okay but what about the other advantages of ZFS that might compensate for the additional RAM "reserve" ?
Let's have a fuller picture here, please.

Is the zfs and ext4 an apt comparison? Seems to me it's comparing apples to oranges and zfs to btrfs would be apt.

This test is wrong. Zfs and ext4 is disk. That test is memory transfer rate.
