I am afraid the Chinese are not fool. They don't believe what Singapore says (don't choose side but be friendly to both), but look at the facts. In their eyes, Singapore is the protected country by the US. Buying all military equipment from US and follow US's order, which I personally agree. In fact, I used to talk with some Chinese about this when I worked in China. Surprisingly, they feel Indonesians and Malaysians are friendly to China, but most of them don't like Singapore (because Singapore's military ties with the US). No choosing side becomes impossible later or sooner.

When the Ukraine War broke out, and on the pretext that “the UNSC resolution to condemn Russia’s aggression against Ukraine failed to pass due to Russia’s veto”, Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs announced that the small island state will act in concert with other “like-minded” countries (the U.S.and its handful of vassals actually) to impose appropriate sanctions and restrictions against Russia.

But what did Singapore do when Israel wages war against the helpless Palestinians? An atrocious invasion condemned by the entire world with the exception of the United States. What did Singapore do when the United States invaded countries with no capacity to fight back— Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan etc.?

Since independence on August 9 1965, Singapore has leaned heavily towards the west, similar to the Republic of Korea during the dictatorial regime of Syngman Rhee.

He's trying hard no doubt but he's not even half of his father. His father was sharp and not trying to sound nice but right.

When you have a friend that is constantly making trouble it becomes very annoying. A good move is to unfriend such a person.

PM Lee is not Bongbong, Fumio Kishida or Yoon Suk Yeol. He is his own man who makes his own decisions on behalf of the Singaporean People for their benefits.

No one asked Mr Lee the question on behalf of Congressman Tom Cotton?... "Have you ever been a member of CCP?"

As long as people like Senator Tom Cotton avoid making news and impact in the US over considering Singapore as part of China due to xenophobia, Singapore will prefer the US over China. But the xenophobia is a real issue since anti-Chinese sentiment and "Yellow Peril" in the US has been consistent since the late 19th century and often seems ready to bubble up again at any point.

The most intolerable thing about China is you can not choose your government, for the rich and well to do, they can take or leave, for ordinary citizens, no choice but live with it, so Singaporeans are still blessed to have the PAP
