Making a Colourful Summer Bear Paw QUILT! Tiny Pieces!

I made my own Bear Paw quilt after the visit from Chris English where he showed me his spectacular entry for The Festival of Quilts, but I chose to make mine really small and they were a bit too fiddly to be honest, so I stopped when I got to 25 blocks. In this video I'll show you how I sashed these blocks and made a small quilt that might be a picnic blanket if ever we get picnic weather!

Some of these fabrics are Heather Ross and some are Free Spirit, the solid green is Sour Apple from Kona. I love how colourful it looks! I won't be working with pieces that tiny for a long time though!

It really is the support from my lovely Patrons that allows me to keep this show on the road and I am very grateful to each one of you!

Anytime I'm stressed, anxious or just plain annoyed! All of those feelings disappear when I watch and listen to you. Thank you for being the calm in the storms of life. ❤ x

I really like your sewing, the bear paw quilt will turn out pretty. I'm Native American from USA and my clan is Bear 🐻 so my symbol on my medallion and crafts would have a bear paw to identify my clan when I get together with other tribal members. You are so homey and I enjoy spending time watching you being creative

Hi Kate! About 4 years ago as a newbie to YouTube, I was searching "quilting" and discovered your channel. I was immediately and completely hooked! I binge watched for days. I absolutely love watching you and your quilting projects💕 This quilt is beautiful and the backing is just perfect! I fondly remember sweet Norma (and your other kitties) and was so happy to see Cat Rita lovingly at home on the new quilt🥰 Thank you for your love of color and quilting and for sharing with us!

I so agree with Mrsstick. I discovered you 2 years ago when both my husband and I had Covid, fairly seriously, and spent about a month getting over it. We even had to isolate from each other within our house for about 10 days. So, in the guest room I discovered your channel and watched you every night before going to sleep. What treat. I have become very attached to your program and you. Thank you for all you give all of your viewers. You are a special person Kate and so creative.

With my left over batting scraps I use to make pot holders, hot pads, and coasters with them if it's too small for a quilt. I enjoy sewing and like giving away my creative pieces to family and friends as gifts

I thought the chain piecing cutter was so nifty that I showed my husband a picture off Amazon. He said, ‘I can make that!’ With his 3D printer and laser cutter, he made one in a day. I use it all the time. Thanks Kate.

Who else would make bear claws out of hot pink and lime green! So cheerful and fun. I hope one day the grandkids will be tucking their own children in with some of the lovely quilts you've made. I have a knitted afghan my Aunt made as a small child. Dolly sized, it's well over 100 years old and I hope to pass it down too. These things are treasures.

It is so useful, as well as cute. It saves all that faff with snips & scissors 😅

The green matches your lime green couch. I believe your cat has decided it's his blanket. Beautiful work.

Kate, I just knew you would choose green.💚 It is beautiful. You may be glad of this in the winter when it's very cold and us pensioners can't afford to heat our homes.🥶 We shall all be wrapped up in beautiful quilts. 💚🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧

I admire how you take on a new challenge! Each new project has its own challenges, don't they? When designing the back, you realized that the more enormous bear claws would require some maths. You plunged ahead and got it done. How rewarding that must feel; good on you, Kate! The finished quilt is wonderfully colorful!

We're so spoiled...a 'home' and 'garden' video nearly back to back! Speaking of back - the back of this quilt is absolutely glorious! [so is the front, but the back is a bit unexpected].
