Should The Tank be Up or Down?

When adding refrigerant to an HVAC system, does the refrigerant tank need to be upside down to add as a liquid or is it okay to leave it upright to add it as a vapor? In this video I explain the difference between adding refrigerant in liquid and vapor form, I talk about blended and single component refrigerants, and I also explain how to properly add refrigerant as a liquid. Hey Jay, as your commented in the 7:54 mark with the unit off, I don’t believe you can open the suction side as you’re saying and leave it open if you’re putting liquid refrigerant because when the compressor comes on, you will also slug the compressor, you can open the high side or liquid side and yes, you can add all the liquid you want through there.
But other than that, I love your videos. They’re all very educational.
