Trying to send private messages in ClickUp? Want to replace internal email with ClickUp Chat, ClickUp Dashboards, or ClickUp *something*? This is the ClickUp tutorial for you!

In this clip from Office Hours, I'll share how you can potentially build out DMs in ClickUp -- even when private messaging isn't a formal feature.

In this video I'll cover:

-Most conversations in ClickUp are meant to be put in context.
-You can sort of use Reminders in ClickUp for this function.
-You can also build out Dashboards to make it work.
-This may not be a good enough solution for everyone. What do you use?

Great tip regarding the reminder inbox delegate method. That's exactly the solution I needed for one-off messages.

Layla, This is the limitation that has kept our team from ClickUp. Very helpful video. If we were to take the 'permutations' approach of creating all possible combinations, could that be done by a central administrator or would each employee have to create those for themselves?

It is sad to see that this video was made 3 years ago and still the one-on-one messages feature is not implemented. Even after clickup 3.0 was introduced.

What do you use for 1:1 communications with your ClickUp? Tell me the comments!

This is a great and helpful video, thank you very much. On our team we weren't so worried about the messages being private but I really feel like we could be doing more of our task and project management-based communication on clickup rather than on slack. We have slack free plan and now some of our messages are 'gone' after just a couple months. Anyway - one thought I'd love your feedback on. The chat feature in views and that you can use on dashboards is limited in clickup. When you comment on tasks you can reply to threads and save key messages to the description and stuff like that. What about making a list in each space called 'chats' or 'channels' or something and here one task could be analogous to a channel in slack. Most of my team really prefers slack for chatting, but that's partly because they are used to it and don't see the right 'place' to have the chats in clickup. Anyway, we are about to test both systems, the dashboard one like you do here and the list approach, to see which works better. Thanks again for this and other videos you've posted. I'm going through them a lot the last couple days and learning tons. cheers!
