Overworked and under-resourced fire chiefs battling wildfires are getting backup from new hi-tech helicopters that can fight fires 24/7, and, for the first time, drop flame retardant at night. 60 Minutes reports, Sunday.

"60 Minutes" is the most successful television broadcast in history. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 and is still a hit, over 50 seasons later, regularly making Nielsen's Top 10.

As a condition of this interview, we require that you have a shot of the helicopter in the background with a clear shot of the Southern CA Edison logo on the bird. Thanks SCE for not taking responsibility. Funny thing is, SCE is only paying for the helicopters when they are not fighting fires. Great deal, because they are almost always on a fire in CA.

'When all you've got is a Hammer, I guess everything looks like a nail.' I guess this proves that saying wrong 🤣

Humanity can be summed up by saying "It's a species that innovates once it's caused it's habitat to become uninhabitable."

Funny species, us.

Hi-tech is great, but not the answer we need. Native Americans, for example, used controlled fires for centuries, to keep themselves safe. That is still the best answer.

I am not sure if you can say "retardant" these days. Let me check my ""P.C. for Dummies" book real quick....

I'm afraid that fighting mother Nature is a losing proposition.
