Here is the thing. Even if someone is your friend that doesn't mean you skip the basic documents that are needed for any regular customers. You can of course give friends special discounts/deals but do not skip the documents part. My boss is currently experiencing issues because she is too lenient with her "friends" and they often end up screwing her over. Contracts and documents protect both you and the other party!

I’ve been in a similar situation. I didn’t have credit good enough for banks to accept me, so the car dealership wrote in a different down payment amount lower than what I actually gave them. I got a used car at a high interest rate and paid it for a year then went to my credit union to refinance through them at a much lower APR. Car got paid off and my credit is a lot better than it was at that time. So I think he did something similar to get her approved but it winded up hurting him in the long run because JJ did exactly what the contract says and there’s no way he could prove otherwise without incriminating himself…just my opinion
