If you are just starting out with EGO, the most important thing to know is the batteries and chargers are VERY EXPENSIVE if you buy them alone. So anytime you buy a tool, consider getting the package with a battery. Second most important thing to know is that the weight difference is 2.5 is just right for blowers, hedgetrimmers, etc... You don't want a heavier (higher AH) battery in the smaller tools. The weight even makes a difference in the mowers, as a 5.0 or less makes the mower a breeze to push around. My advice is to have 2 chargers and go with lighter batteries. Finally, OGS mentioned it in the video but to be clear, you don't get more POWER with a higher ampere hour rated battery, you just get more RUN TIME. All the batteries work in all the EGO tools. So a 2.5 ah battery works just fine in a push mower, but will last about 15 mins, where a 5.0 will last longer but cut the grass exactly the same.

There's one more point besides bulk and weight that many people consider important, and that is cost. Big difference between 5.0 AH and 12.0 AH.

For everything but the Zero Turn, etc it’s hard to argue against multiple 5.0A units. As opposed to a 10-12A. With multiple smaller batteries, you can have some quick charging, while using others, creating nearly zero downtime.

The 2.5 ah battery on the smaller black 210 watt charger can also charge in around 30 mins given its storage capacity

My 7.5aHr (1st gen) battery died with 10 days on the 3yr warranty. I got a solid red light on the quick charger and a rapidly flashing amber light after pressing the button for 5 seconds (indicates over temp condition). I'm in Ohio and might charge my battery 2x/wk in our 7-8 month mowing season. My battery should have lasted 4+years, but didn't make it to 3. Yes, it is being warrantied because I registered my mower purchase.

Last year I purchased a 2 stage ego snowblower and a 10ah battery and rapid charger. This year I bought a dual charger and a 12 volt battery. My question is can I run the 10 ah and the 12 ah in my snowblower at the same time? Also can I charge the 10ah and the 12ah battery on the dual charger at the same time.?
Can I use either charger on the batteries? Many thanks for the help. Bob Erwin/ Ottawa Canada/

Great batteries! Ready for some stacked lithium from these guys. The battery backpack link has saved me a lot of troubles with the weight of these things.

Hi. I'm debating getting an EGO combo string trimmer and edger with the power head. It looks like it comes with the basic charger and the 4.0Ah battery.

My question is, what's the best way to get the most longevity out of the EGO batteries? I've seen videos saying to not let them charge to 100%, or take them off the charger after they charge, etc. I guess there's a lot of opinions. I'd rather not buy an expensive battery prematurely. So what's your take on battery maintenance to get the battery to last as long as possible.

Thanks,
Matt

Not displayed is watts out. The 1p batteries, such as the 2.5ah, can only output around 1100 watts to the motor (assuming 20a output of the 18650s x 56v). This is simply not enough for the mowers or higher end blowers.

Question. Just purchased a landowner with 56v 6.0 AH battery and charger.
I’m having trouble charging the battery. It just lights up red on 25% and never moves forward. When I hold the battery power button it just blinks red. What do I do

How long will 7.5amp battery last with blower? My 5amp and 4amp needed charge after 30min each use for front half only when doing leaves.

Great informative video! Would you be willing to recommend an Ego blower for car drying and a little leaf blowing? Thank you.

Instructions say the batteries vent hydrogen when charging. Is this true? I charge mine in the house but need to know if I need to move charging out to the deck when on charge.

I mow my 3/4 acre lawn easily with one 7.5 ah battery. Absolutely no need for the bigger batteries unless you're using self-propelled or a rider.

Is it better to buy 2.5ah batteries in AZ for shorter usage in high temps, or should I avoided ego in the summer?

Will the 12 ah battery fit in the 24 inch snow blower?

I have an ego blower that came with a 4.0 ah battery and weed eater that came with the 2.5 ah battery. Question: Can I use the 4.0 with the weedeater as well as using the 2.5 with the blower? Otherwise, are they interchangable? Only reason I would do this would be if one or the other batteries is charging. Thanks in advance.
