In this in-depth seminar, sCrypt explores the significance of OP_CAT and its potential impact on Bitcoin's future. The video covers four key applications enabled by OP_CAT: covenants, which allow constraints on how Bitcoin can be spent after a transaction; Merkle Trees for efficient set membership verification; vaults to enhance Bitcoin security with time-locked withdrawals and override keys; and recursive covenants that enable state maintenance in Bitcoin's UTXO model. sCrypt demonstrates how OP_CAT simplifies complex Bitcoin scripting, making it accessible to developers familiar with TypeScript and web development tools. They discuss the potential for building Ethereum-like applications on Bitcoin, including AMMs and token systems.

The seminar also touches on challenges in the Bitcoin ecosystem, such as long block times and replace-by-fee issues, and how developers can design around these limitations. sCrypt encourages developers to start building on Bitcoin's Signet testnet to be ready when OP_CAT is activated on mainnet. Throughout the presentation, they emphasize the vast opportunities this small change brings to Bitcoin's programmability and its potential to revolutionize the development of decentralized applications on the Bitcoin blockchain. This video is essential viewing for anyone interested in Bitcoin's technical evolution and the expanding possibilities for building sophisticated smart contracts and applications on the world's first cryptocurrency.

Such a positive vibe man, Gavin 😁 Watching this makes me miss university. Also, the state machine, specifically, makes me want to develop a high level Turing Complete language on that. You could code anything you want but just pay into an account to keep updating it as you need, sorta like gas but you never have to worry about what happens if it runs out except that it's just paused.

I like this very much.
Let me tell you, when I had my 17k Moonriver tokens stolen from me and there was nothing I could do, it did not feel pleasant at all.
I'm glad I moved from shitcoinery to BSV.
Chances of theft will go down SIGNIFICANTLY with BSV.
