Tropical Storm Debby set to slam Florida

In Florida, residents are stacking sandbags and boarding up windows as Tropical Storm Debby is expected to strengthen rapidly before making landfall. Heavy rains have already begun and evacuations have been ordered in some areas. States of emergency are also in effect for Georgia and South Carolina. NBC News’ Marissa Parra reports on the storm.

There is no such thing as mandatory(!) evacuation for a storm. Big Brother can't force you out of your home. They can tell you that they may not be able to help you if you stay but it's still your choice, not theirs.

FYI hurricanes don't hit western Georgia. Hurricanes turn into tropical storms when they cross land.
