You can have your opinion on the stoppage itself, but you can hear the concern almost panic in Dan’s voice. He was reacting honestly and worried about the fighters safety, which I think is admirable.

An intelligent mma comment section for once. It's absolutely insane at the time people were actually trying to justify Herb's late stoppage and trying to fault Hardy. Dan 100% got set up by the UFC to get fired as the 'mystery woman' who had all these accusations about Dan still never came forward or said anything since. He made the company 'look bad' by begging Herb to stop the fight on Live prime time so they got rid of him. Nothing new.

I am all about Herb legacy of work. I mean I know he has made good calls and that it's hard to be a ref in high level fight. But, Herb "Inconsistent" Dean. Dude is the epitome of biased ref and indecisive.

i think herb saw it and thought it was one of those "he's hit and knocked out so should stop it, but i didn't stop it quick enough and he might of recovered quickly so maybe he can continue from here" type of knockouts. when really he was out cold and there was no coming back from that

The thing about Herb is that he gives fighters a chance, bc he knows these guys train a lot for the win, so when someone seems defensive, like this guy with his arm up, he give them a chance, at least that's what he said.

Absolutely HORRIBLE early stoppage! This was one of the most skillfully executed corpse guard attacks I have ever witnessed! The opponent was moments away from falling permanently due to the power of this attack that was absolutely RUINED by this EARLY stoppage!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬

As soon as you see the reaction to the hit he's clearly out and his hand defensively didn't change position. The extra shots were not needed also people never factor in the person hitting the ground then back of head hitting the mat - that alone was enough to give brain damage to most people, add on the 4 extra hits and it's potentially years off someone's life for a bad call. It's easy to sit back and not feel bad now imagine that fighter was your friend or family and you might change your outlook on extra damage when it's not necessary.
