As a german I think Fabio isn’t a good fit for Shella, I really hoped she‘d pick pascal. Based on the way they speak, Shella and Pascal seem to have a background in higher education while Fabio doesn’t sound like he does. I wouldn’t even have entertained Fabio because he sounds like he is simple minded. Maybe it’s hard to pick up on that in translation.

Pascal could still be a bad choice, I haven’t watched this far, but Shella is definitely out of Fabios league intellectually and I don’t mean this in a rude way. In Germany Children get separated into different school paths based on their performance at the age of ten so it’s very common for people to only be friends with people who have a similar educational background. I’m not saying this is good but this might provide additional context to Shellas choice. I just couldn’t see Fabio fitting in with my friends from Uni while I can totally see it for Pascal.

I live in Germany and I don't see it for my good sis Shella! I saw the build up with Pascal because of his experience in South Africa. I feel she thought he was open minded especially because she mentioned she was from Togo. I thought he was more open minded but I don't trust him especially after the reveal. I see this a lot especially with black women who date out of their race. There is always a minor doubt in your head if the guy in question dates out of their race.

Cast members from other LIB series have explained their seemingly unusual picks due to conversations and interactions not shown to the public. I believe this is the case here too. The German LIB did not provide a lot of context for the casts' feelings, which I find annoying. Also, I wonder if Shella felt Pascal provided more stability given his pragmatic and non-emotinoal, stoic nature. Sometimes Fabios of this world can seem too eager to please to get ahead and come across as "quick to get hot and quick to cool down or look at others". We just can't know until she tells us her experience. Also, it is not ok to assume someone is reserved about someone because of their internalized racism - please avoid making such assumptions! This came from your head and insecurity, not what was shown. Pascal is a reserved, careful, pragmatic person by default and these kinds of folks are very unlikely to proclaim love so quickly. If he had any issue with the color of her skin he would not have picked her as his top person but would have eliminated her from the beginning. I am more concerned about him stating several times that he fears he may hurt her and she did not ask what he meant by that. I assume he was referring to him being overly picky in general and that he did not feel that initial chemistry with her in the pods... but enough that he went thru' it to explore it further. It will be clearer when we see more interactions and their feedback.

Well, I thought that the letter was really manipulative. I don’t know why but Pascal gives me weird vibes.
I didn’t like Fabio as well and he has already been on a dating show. Maybe he was only there for screen time and she felt that? I hope she will end up happy as she is one of few likable people on the show!

I don’t like shella. She’s been stringing along Fabio while knowing she preferred pascal (and didn’t tell anyone). She watched Miss A cry her butt off for days because she really liked and cared for Fabio and feared losing him. And when Shella finally got her ego pet by being picked by Fabio, she let him down. He would have had a choice to pick someone who was very emotional and genuine about her intentions yet both got snubbed at a shot at love because shella needed the validation.
Nah. I don’t like that girl.

Fabio must have a decent job to be able to buy a family complex cos they cost more than a normal home

I was so irritated when she chose Pascal over Fabio.
But I think she chose him because he spoke about how much it takes him to open up and she is the same.
We often choose our traumas and bonding over trauma, that’s for me more a soul tie and trauma bond than a real love and compatibility. Often we choose someone who has the same issues like us so if we can fix them as a project we hope we can fix ourselves.
But you can clearly see pascal is not into her. He barely look at her.
