Yes, it is better to slow down a little bit since people need time to think when they learn new things.

Everytime when you see i u together, remember to add the tone on the second one. If it is jiu, then add the tone on u, because u is the second one, if it is hui, then add the tone on i, because here i is the second one.

you will put the falling (4th) tone above i for liu and the third tone above u for jiu. There is no rule for it. However, I think you will put the first and third tone above the u and second and fourth above the i. I hope that helps.

i've seen both: tone on (i) and tone on (u).
here, apparently, the style is tone on (i).
i've been wondering if it has to do with traditional/simplified style,
although those concepts are applied to characters, not pinyin.

I just started learning Mandarin. I know greetings and numbers so far. I also learned tones. I'm the most curious about symbols and characters anyone could explain to me how that works? Xiè Xiè

Yes I need a male teacher. When learning a new language, I tend to unconsciously mimick how a person is saying things. I wonder if males and females say things differently in Chinese. Like one tends to be livelier than the other or more expressive?

you should give people some time to think and memorize the word before just saying the next. like you go Yi, Er, San at least make enough space between each number so I'm able to finish saying it myself before moving on >__< and I'm a native ( I can count lol)

How about the plight of 幺 (yao1)? I grew up in the US to 东北 parents and I learned to sometimes say "幺" instead of "一" (i.e. for phone numbers)

I must say it's a bit ridiculous to have 40% of the video just be post-video bloopers..
You could easily have fit 2 videos in one here.
Them ad revenues >_>

may be you are right. I didn't pay attention. Actually it shouldn't matter as long as u put down the tone ( i guess)

It was a little bit irritation to me that you did not count in the chinese manner, could you make a video (if there isn't already one) about that? :)

Where you said Ta Xiang Ni Men.. It didn't feel like the men was high enough in tone. I'm curious how long you've been learning for Ben. I wish I was at your level but I feel your sounds are very measured and mechanical. Not like everyday speech. Still love the series though.
