Hey Eddie. For these type of questions where you need to find k, can we also use definite integration?
You start with dP/dt = kP.
Then, 1/P*dP = kdt
From there, you can use definite integrals on both sides where the upper and lower bound of the LHS is 20k and 5k respectively. Likewise, with the RHS, the upper bound is 30min and the lower bound is 0. 
It equals up to exactly the right answer. I'm not sure of it always works since I just started this topic and will there be any circumstances in which we can't use it.
