Pulling down a statue will never remove scars of hatred towards a race and an evil ideology; however, we can over come it and them.

Monuments and flags dedicated to the war dead are appropriate but should be located where the dead soldiers are buried and not at civil government buildings. A good solution is to move the monuments there. The government should also prosecute all criminals, rioters, and vandals destroying other's property.

I know that guy screaming at the start of the video, he was in my firefighter class and at my volunteer department. Kind of an idiot but he's right on this.

What is most telling and important about the monuments is what is written on them. The writing in this clip is "To Our Confederate Dead". Historically it is incorrect because in 1926 there is no confederacy. Also, the confederate was an illegal group of states. Those people had the continued desire to align themselves with a rogue government. Again becoming traitors. Never taking responsibility for all the pain, death and destruction they brought on this nation from their rebellion. Instead, as shameful as their behavior was, the south did everything it could to not repent for their treason and to maintain their racist way of life.

If those people were true patriots the writings on the monuments would have been "To Our American Dead From the Civil War" and "Never Again" The monuments would not have Confederate generals. But those townspeople were not patriots. They still had a separatists state of mind that is a danger to our democracy even today. This separatists state of mind is being exhibited in the rhetoric of the current alt-right, neo-nazis and white supremacists of today. They are also a danger to our democracy.

Similar things have occurred in China under Mao and with the Taliban in SW Asia. Remove the monuments, then the books and finally the people.

Hey from South Carolina! 🙏We need to remember our history it's important! If we take down all the monuments & memorials then what will our future generations have to learn from to make things better & not to choose the wrong path. I can already see it won't stop with monuments next it will be the White House, Mount Rushmore, Churches, historic plantation homes, renaming roads & schools, library's, holidays etc. It's not just the US. It's also in Syria & Poland & other places.
History is trying to be erased. .😵😢 Prayers for the 🌎!
This is not idol worshipping! We aren't bowing down to these monuments! They are only a remembrance of the past. So we don't go back to those times and make the same mistakes. And to remember all that was lost!😇

Desecrating monuments to the dead is the lowest form of human behavior. Those who destroy their own history and culture will inherit chaos.
