Why not put them in museums? Along with a long history of their crimes of treason.

I think ALL monuments should be removed, especially MLK monuments!

Washington and Jefferson were not treasonous. Lee and Jackson were. This simple distinction escapes Trump's shallow comprehension of US history and the world around him.

My recommendation is to follow Donald's statement "I like winners, losers not so much". Keep the monuments of winners (G. Washington WON the revolutionary war) and remove the ones of losers (R. E. Lee LOST the civil war).

The po-potus should replace Bannon with :Arsenio Hall", his star apprentice.

No need to remove the statue. Silly. It was a war however, also the statue is out dated for the future. It is an old fashion way of advertisement.

All Confederate symbols that are on taxpayer funded land, MUST be REMOVED immediately... Privately displayed Confederate symbols are fine, especially in the case of museum's along side context...

I say keep them put up in a museum or leave them put up in a shied until all the hate in this world in finally gone and it is a only fair to take Martin Luther kings down too and put his up too with them as well .

To Removers of Monuments ...

Those impassive, silent guardians – will their gaze no longer shame you?

Have they been forever banished? Are you sure?

Can you finally stroll in comfort streets bereft of all reminders?

Is their valor gone, as if it never were?

Spiteful children! Did it gall you that someone so loved, respected these,

Enough to raise their monuments on high—

And you know you’ve never earned any respect, and never will,

And your blog will be deleted when you die?

“Ingrate, vandal, ignoramus,

Meddler, coward, bully, fool”—

Those are titles your pedestal might bear,

Were your legacy preserved, beyond the web and your own minds –

But I doubt it will last too long even there.

We should keep these monuments just for the historical value

What does it really matter to have some historical crap that reminds us
of horrible things that have been done? You guys are trying to say that
since the monuments are of people/things that supported slavery, but
they don't any more. They are proof that slavery is no good, proof that
our history has risen from such atrocities, acknowledgement of the
sacrifices made to wipe out the acceptance of such horrible things. And
most importantly, a reminder to never do it again.

Leave the monuments and teach children about these people. Show them our country has evolved since it began.
