How I Write Music as a Composer

Woooow! This is great! I’m actually an amateur composer and you’re right, most of the time the piano is beside you when composing. Another thing is I hum a melody in my head like if I’m walking or on the train, then record that humming melody but I also use a pitch finder since I don’t have a perfect pitch. It’s what my mentor usually advised for composing. 😃

What's the workflow for composing for orchestra? Do you write out your sketches on piano first (either for two or four hands), or do you go straight into writing for each part of the orchestra? And how do you make it more "efficient" for you?
