Best $60,000 Midsized Truck! 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor vs Toyota Tacoma TRD

👋 If you have $60,000 to spend on a brand new mid sized pickup truck, what are you buying? Would you go for the new 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor, or the new 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD? At $59k this new Raptor Ranger is pretty sweet! The TRD Off Road Tacoma Hybrid will cost about the same and the TRD Pro will cost closer to $65k. The Raptor Ranger features a 400 horsepower twin turbo V6 with a 10 speed transmission. It's a bolt looking truck inside and out and even has tons of drive modes for street use and off road use. Very capable truck with a nicely appointed interior and it's fun to drive! The loaded up TRD Off Road will have a nice interior too and maybe not have the street focused fun to drive aspects, but with the higher torque figures with the hybrid drivetrain along with sway bar disconnect, the TRD will probably be a better rock crawler. Tacoma also has a larger bed with better towing. However the Ranger Raptor has more comfortable back seats. Both trucks I think offer a lot for $60k and it really depends if you want a bit better towing and off road capabilities from the Tacoma. Or more fun street driving and better back seats in the Raptor Ranger. I like the exhaust sound and paddle shifters in the Raptor. Really makes this a fun truck! But the Tacoma has strengths too. Probably the two best mid sized trucks out there. GM is up here too tho!

The Tacoma TRD Offroad should be a 40k to 45K truck well loaded. Instead its 50 to 60k, lol. At that price, the Raptor is a much better bet (even though its a 48k to 50K truck). Its like a sports sedan and offroader in one.

The Raptors also in general hold value well. The big question with Ford is long term reliability.

Values in this space are the ZR2 and Frontier Pro4X

Yeah I see some new Taco's around just look a bit plain. I would rather have look super nice for 60k but probably have to spend 70k or more for that.

No front locker on the Tacoma, even the trail hunter has no front locker. Gives the ranger a major advantage in off roading.

Ford Ranger Raptor is sold worldwide. The 1st generation Ranger Raptor that the US market does not get is introduced in 2015 until the Ranger Raptor T9 enters the US market.

Well i am a tacoma owner and i think toyota tacoma is better than ford raptor i am sure tacoma will last longer than ford raptor
