The Supreme Court heard arguments Tuesday on whether to allow a question about citizenship on the 2020 census. The Trump administration says data will help protect voter rights, but critics claim that the question could deter millions from participating in the survey. Conservatives have the majority on the court, and it appears they are leaning toward approving the measure. Sam Levine, HuffPost reporter who covers voter rights, joins CBSN with analysis.

Do not see a problem with the question. Why is the government providing funding and representation for people who are here illegally?

There is no debate, it's the United States, either you're a citizen or not.

Born here been here all my life and I'm still waiting to be treated like a citizen but I guess I'd have to cross the border legally and come back illegally to get this kind of treatment' looks like more poo pie thanks injustice system.

If they add the question, I won't be filling out the census, or I'll be filling it out falsely.

Can someone explain to me why should I care if illegals in my country do not partake in a census?

Is counting numbers of Americans wrong?

Over four minutes of video and the exact constitutional question before the court was never presented.

They guy ask why Trump is the first to see this as needed, and the answer is that no other president had to deal with MAN marches on our border.

Well we have NEVER had a larger influx of illegal immigrants, so be honest comparing census numbers from the past to now. I’m no Trumper but...

I don't think it's a Supreme Court question. The Constitution says that a census be taken. This is the only way to check representation of the country's citizens. What is the big deal?

The only reason you would oppose this is to protect people who are in the US illegally while simultaneously stacking the house with more representatives for blue districts. The Democrats don't want to choose. They'd rather have their cake and eat it too.

She should have asked him what other measures, mechanisms, suggestions should be used to get true citizenship data if not by the census.

They asked the question because of all the illegal immigrants.

So you would need to prove citizenship to vote?

What makes anyone think that an Illegal is going to fill out a census, let alone answer that question 🤣

I'm not even doing it. It says on the FAQ "American Community Survey" NOT Native American Community, Hispanic American Community, just American community.
