Even Chester couldn’t pull the full scream off live all the time. He often split it into two parts. This was the song I was most anxious about her performing and she killed it! Anxiety gone!

This is not an easy song, she nailed it. She sure knows how to scream, can't blame her that she didnt do that whole scream on one breath

Chester has always split the scream live, too.

Going in front of like millions of people while you have to go up there and sing the vocal perfectly for millions of people’s favourite f**kin’ band and NOT just favourite band, But favourite legendary vocalist Chester’s part is NOT easy.

worth mentioning that even Chester couldnt *always* hit the full 17

Emily pulled it off ten times better than most probably could honestly imo

This is what I wanted to listen, Emily's Given Up, and even preferring Chester's scream for this song, I can admit that she does an absolute f*cking good job

Absolutely, Chester Bennington was one of a kind, and his presence in Linkin Park is truly irreplaceable. His voice had a depth and intensity that brought the music to life in a way few could replicate. In songs like Numb, In the End, and Crawling, he expressed such complex emotions—rage, sorrow, and despair—with raw power and authenticity.

Many fans feel that there’s just something about Chester’s singing that can’t be duplicated. His presence on stage, the way he embodied every lyric, and his intense, emotional vocal style made each performance deeply personal and unforgettable. He wasn’t just singing; he was pouring out his soul, making fans feel like he was voicing their own unspoken struggles.

Whenever others cover Linkin Park songs, they may perform well, but there’s always that missing piece, because Chester’s unique emotional intensity made every song resonate on a profound level.

It has always been a huge thing for me to see someone sing this song in place of Chester and I must say Emily did a really great job! ❤

There were only few times Chester did the whole long scream part live. The older fans might have known this through videos and perhaps have seen him live too. Also it's not just a one performance of a song they're doing, it's a full blown live show.

The genius that is Chester(RIP) & LP with their lyrics for Numb has made Emily ready to take in this role more than ever. And Numb was written many many years ago, saving lives such as myself during the darkest hours. TQ LP

In addition to the 17 second scream, the bass makes this song for me and makes it heavy as fuck.

Okay she didnt make the scream, but let me tell you, even chester struggled with this live haha. Its extremely difficult to do a vocal fry that long. But for a first attempt live, I think its good ^^
