They're honoring his legacy while evolving with their sound. Emily brings something fresh and unique, but Chester's presence will always be irreplaceable.

This is about moving forward, not forgetting the past.

This woman knows that she has extremely huge shoes to fill. Stop trashing her and comparing her to Chester. Give her some credit as her road is already going to be difficult and doesn't need it to be fueled with continuous haters comparing her to Chester. How can she, the band, succeed if you are all going to live in the past? Chester will never be truly replaced, we all know that and I am sure she knows that as well but now we are hearing a new era of Linkin Park. So why not enjoy the hell out of it, support the old and new members of the band and head bang with Chester in solace and accept change without the hate. You can honestly hear Chester in her vocals. On Rob's departure from the band:

Shinoda: Rob had said to us at a point, I guess it was a few years ago now, that he wanted to put some distance between himself and the band. And we understood that - it was already apparent. He was starting to just show up less, be in less contact, and I know the fans noticed it too. The Hybrid Theory rerelease and Papercuts release, he didn't show up for anything. So for me, as a friend, that was sad, but at the same time, I want him to do whatever makes him happy, and obviously everybody wishes him the best.
